One of the roman soldiers-like goons attacked Bobby, but his attack failed miserably to break the ice. The human popsicle returned the favor by punching the thug a couple of times in the face and the stomach.
-It's better this way, isn't it? Appetizers make the main course easier to swallow. Though if you need ice in your drinks, you know whom to ask!
Then he ducked just in time to avoid another attack of a nearby thug.

Angel literally swoops into action, grabbing Moondragon and flying her to safety, I'd rather have my Moondragons NOT looking like a pin cushion, ok?

As Warren gets Moondragon out of harm's way, Iceman moves in it to slow it down!

Holding out both hands towards the wall of spears, the Iceman attempts to freeze it to stop its advance, not failing to notice a most definite fact:
-Man, those guys watched WAY too many movies.

Beast stared in shock at this trap coming out of nowhere. "Oh my stars and garters..." he whispered. He then stepped back hoping oh so much that Iceman could keep it back. He then looked around their surroundings to see any signs of any other traps or something that could stop this trap. The latter is very unlikely, but it is worth a try.

Iceman slows the spears but does not stop them. However, the Beast believes that Bobby's cold has made them brittle. That's the good news. But Hank also spots wall-mounted laser weapons training on the New Defenders' position. That's the bad news!

Beast stared at the lasers for a second before turning to everyone. "Okay, people, I got good news and bad news. The good news is that even though Iceman didn't stop the spikes, I believe that they are brittle enough to break now. Bad news is that we got wall mounted lasers aiming right at us now!" Beast then started jumping around trying to make it hard for the lasers to hit him. He then attempted to break off some of the spikes that are still coming at them.

With Beast's help, the spikes are broken. But now the blockade's throwing some kinda laser blasts at the New Defenders!

"Don't worry group," Iceman calls out. "My ice-wall will protect us!" Bobby begins to form a dome of ice over Valkyrie, Gargoyle and himself. Angel, Moondragon and Beast have to move fast if they want to join their huddled teammates under the ice-shield!
