So the Square object was a.... for spoilers-sake, we'll call it a Skrull-invented-cube, and NOT that Ice Making cube that Loki had then? I couldn't tell for certain, but figured it was one or the other. Not sure how I feel about Skrulls being involved in the Avengers movie, that's the first I've heard of it (but don't really follow rumors and such) Heard that, too. And! Also heard Loki is going to be heavily involved in Avengers, too. Very excited about that He *SHOULD* be IMO. Just saying. Gotta stay SOMEWHAT true to the old ways... <shudder>

Yeah, totally...I heard some dorks (not you, DK!) chatting after the flick, they assumed it was the frost giant's "Coffin" (I think that's what Odin called it). But it was definitely a square object of Skrull-then-later-AIM origins.
I knew Loki was in Avengers, and I heard Skrull rumors early on, I just didn't know it was confirmed.

You guys mean the Cosmic Cube? And aren't the Skrulls more of the Fantastic Four enemies?

You guys mean the Cosmic Cube? And aren't the Skrulls more of the Fantastic Four enemies? That's where they started (I believe), but the Skrulls have been all over the map and fought just about everybody. Some of my favorite Avengers storylines have involved the Kree/Skrull war.

Saw it today (not 3D, just regular digital, 3D was like an extra 7 bucks. Forget that.) My feelings are generally in consensus to what I've read here. Hiddleston's Loki and Hopkin's Odin were my favorite parts of the movie, I liked the Warriors Three quite a bit too (made me want to RP Fandral the Dashing a little bit, to be honest.) I'm not sure if it was the fight choreography, the special effects, or the editing, but most of the fight scenes struck me as a bit sloppy (leaning towards the editing.) Liked it more than a lot of the recent Marvel films, but it doesn't exceed my top 3 (X2, Spider-Man, and Iron Man, in some order I am at the moment unsure of.)

Saw it just a few minutes ago. Loved how they introduced Hawkeye without really mentioning him. You know, I was gonna make a huge warning (As in capital letters) that I was gonna reveal what cube thing everyone is talking about. And then hide the actual word in a series of random letters. But then I got scared/nervous about why everyone tried to hide the existance of the cube in the first place. I will gladly give my two cents on what the cube is. By pm of course.

My wife didn't think it was funny when I asked if Kat Dennings was old enough to do nude scenes yet...
Anyway; saw the movie. I didn't expect much, so it didn't disappoint me. As DK said, it was better than most of the other Marvel offerings for the most part.
My biggest gripe is the same one I always have with these films; changing the source material for no good reason.

Like how the Destroyer Armor could be simply beaten up instead of having to locate and beat up the body of the person who controlled it?

Like how the Destroyer Armor could be simply beaten up instead of having to locate and beat up the body of the person who controlled it? Yes, amongst several other things.

Now that I think about it, I didn't like that change either. Made me look like an fool when I was explaining the basic mechanics of the Armor to my family only for Thor to just smack it around a few times to have it go down.

Yes. What happened to my old "pretty people thread?"
Anyway, she's only two years older than I am, which makes her in my range and my new goal in life.
