Just got back. The movie was cool, but our general consensus was that we didn't really care too much about Thor as a character, not just in the movie, but as a piece of Marvel property.
Also, Loki was totally cool.

I think I mostly enjoyed the movie.
I'm a die hard oldschool Thor fan though, and saw plenty that flew in the face of things I know and love about the mytho's. It was ok though, I just reminded myself it's the Marvel-Movie-Way.
I think the only part that made me say "Wha? Really? Ugh." was when the Warriors Three and Sif were on Earth. There really DID look like LARPERS with plastic weapons. Surely they could have made the props look more real?!
As for the post-credits teaser... meh.

Saw a midnight showing last night, really, really, really dug it. The guy who is playing Loki, Tom Hiddleston. Watch that dude, he gonna go places. He was *excellent* as Loki, put a lot into that performance and gave me a whole new look at the character. And it's true, Kenneth Brannagh never met a Dutch angle he didn't love. Not gonna rant, just gonna rave; loved it, excellent start to the summer movie season! Really captured the spirit of the comic books, so I was okay with some inaccuracies.

I was pleased with how well put together the Ashard scenes were. They didn't drag like I thought they would.

It was great. I was very pleased with how things turned out, I loved the action, and I was really pleased with the way they did the story. Not a big Thor fan here, but I dug this a lot. I didn't like how the romance was rushed, it was a little awkward at the end there, but oh well.
I was particularly impressed with how the Destroyer Armor turned out, I didn't expect that fight to be very engaging at all. I can also very much understand the Jamie-Alexander-as-Wonder-Woman people now. Her voice and face didn't put me off at all this time, actually.
I liked the way they handled godhood a lot in this thing. I was also amazed at how powerful Heimdall was. I thought Idris Elba had a bit part but CLEARLY he was a crucial part of the storyline. I wasn't too impressed with Loki, but I did like how they gave him a solid backstory and showed his fall.

What on Earth is a Dutch angle?

It looks like this. Basically, a tilt in the imagery. That's *every* Kenneth Branagh movie. So, if you have a stitch in your neck after seeing Thor, that is why.

I bought advanced tickets, then found out last night I was supposed to close the store. I was mildly ticked off. So I threatened a few underlings, cajoled another manager, and bribed my boss and managed to close the restaurant 15 minutes early. Got there just in time...
I loved it! I've always liked Thor, and had no problem with the changes they made to the mythos (although I admit, I spend the whole film wondering how primitive humans came up with stories about Thor and Loki before they were ever actually born, but w/e). There were a few nagging things like the plastic armor, but Thor looked awesome, so I didn't mind so much. Asgard was amazing; totally real and fantastic at the same time. I didn't think 3-D added much to the experience, though.
My fav part was at the end, when Agent Coulson approaches Thor. Wasn't all that hawt on the teaser, though. I wonder if it indicates that the Avengers will feature Skrulls, since the original...square object in question...was made by them. And the Red Skull tie in to that...I hope Cap's movie rocks.
Oh yeah, and Hawkeye. I liked.

I think they already announced that Skrulls will, indeed, be the villain of the Avengers movie.

Heard that, too. And! Also heard Loki is going to be heavily involved in Avengers, too. Very excited about that
