Hello everyone. I'm new to the Boards, and I haven't played Marvel in about 6 years. (seems like forever) In any case I found this site searching for resources for the game and Jackpot! here I am. I hope I can contribute to the community and find a place for discussion. well i guess that's it for now....

Welcome welcome newcomer. Always good to have newbies. Not "newbies". "Puny humans". ;D Welcome to the boards, friend. Feel free to ask questions, try to answer others' and play around in some games sometimes if you feel like it! We're a decent bunch of folks, if I do say so myself. ^_^ I'm sure you'll have fun by hanging around here.

Thanx for the warm reception. I don't roleplay much any more, D&D just isn't cutting it, so Marvel is gonna be my sole game for now. Other than That I can usually be found on PSN. Considering I do fancy myself a mage, My first project is gonna be to Re-work the magic system so it is no longer a huge hole in what is a fairly solid game. Plus I've had hopes of making my own system for a unversal rpg and this may help me too. lol

A fairly solid game? Were you still talking about D&D?

I was talking about Marvel. D&D is fairly solid even though I think magic users do have a distinct advantage in that game. Magic in marvel just seems like a big hole in the wall. There is not enough structure to it and it's so easy to abuse. I've been working on some ideas that may not completely fix this but, should at least provide some fun options for magic users and put at little more control in the hands of the GM without having to drop the old Ban Hammer.

Yeah, Marvel Magic is perfect as an action, but downright awful as a game mechanic.

Yeah, Marvel Magic is perfect as an action, Not really. It doesn't even succeed at representing magic users in the Marvel U. Even Dr. Strange can't do ANYTHING (per Sorcery), and summoning stuff always seems to have a downside (unlike the Summoning Action).

Did you even read the rest of my post? Its perfect in sense of "overpowered", not "well thought out for an RPG".
