murpg.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gorp&action=display&thread=14295So I thought I'd try getting things off the ground via One-Shot, and if we decide to scrap it after, no harm no foul. On the other hand, if things pick up or we get more players we could start a game properly. I have all your CADS so feel free to just start playing after I get the first post up.

Chapter 0: Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here ===================================== ======================================== Static fills the elevtor as a voice buzzes over the intercom. "Welcome and greetings test subjects. Ladies and/or gentlemen, you may recognize me as Lex Luthor. What? No, I'm not saying that! *Ahem*. I am Lex Luthor, your host. If you're listening to this, I apologize for not being able to greet you in person. But I have a business to run and time is money. So, instead, you have this prerecorded message to keep you company. If you have any questions, feel free to state them now, and I assure you a company representative will be along to answer them shortly." The door slides open to reveal a barren white room. "Now, I know what you're thinking. Why do we have to engage in testing when we could be out there saving lives? To answer that question, I have another question: Do you *want* that red-blue alien menace stealing American jobs or what? Now get to it! And remember, no cheating. For those who complete this testing exercise, you will find me in the thirteenth chamber with a substantial reward." As the door closes and seals behind you, a holographic image flickers briefly of a bank teller with his hands up as the room transforms into a bank lobby. Several images of hostages lie in close proximity to several gunmen with bombs strapped to their chests. Each hostage is gagged and bound. No one appears to be moving. The group is presently standing near some rubble, and looking up will reveal a large hole in the ceiling. Lex' voice crackles over the intercom: "This first exercise will test teamwork and creative thinking. Good luck." A blue light flickers at the far end of the room before flashing red a few times and then green. A timer appears over the light counting down seconds.

A broad-shouldered Hispanic man in a black and yellow costume looks around at the training simulation and mutters under his breath in Spanish. He looks to his new partners and addresses them in accented English. "Wouldn't want any 'aliens' stealing American jobs, eh amigos? I'm Zeus -- 'guess Mr. Luthor wants us to improvise. What do we got?"

Derrick wore black and red, which he wasn't sure matched his ruddy red hair and blue eyes. He silently wondered why he had to wear a costume at all. Sure the Justice League all wore costumes, but he wasn't part of the Justice League, he was a trainee in a program to turn the everyman into a hero. But now wasn't the time for this line of thinking, now was a time for action. When the man next to him asked what they had, he didn't know whether he was talking about powers or the situation. "If you mean the situation, it looks like a robbery with bombs strapped to the hostage takers, and a huge hole in the roof... If you mean powers, I'm bullet proof, can fly and am physically more powerful than a normal human." It sounded weird saying that, normal. What was normal anymore? Things had been a whirlwind since he signed up for these experiments.

Zeus nods.
"Allright. I can throw lightning and control electromagnetic energy. You distract the bad guys and I can taze them, si? You have names, friends?"
He looks to the third, expectantly.

"I can distract them I guess. And my name's Derrick." With that said, Derrick waits for the third member of their team to speak before moving into action.
