The names are, so far, very silly. But let's be honest. Is "Spider-Man" uncheesy, or have we just learned to accept it?

It spits out a lot of "Lad"s and "Lass"es... I guess they think you're trying to make a new Legion of Super Heroes.

Back in 60's everything sounded a lot better. Nowadays any superhero name just sounds silly, either becouse its cheesy in an old way, or trying to be edgy in a bad 90's way. Seriously: Deadpool? Oh my god, so edgy, becouse its made out of DEAD and POOL, combining with a POOL FILLED WITH DEAD PEOPLE!!! This is so 90's, all I see in my head are pouches.
But hey, anyone that can spend 50+ years being called "Captain America" and still manage to inspire readers deserve a medal. Its not the name that counts, but how you add meaning to it with action. Iron Man would've sounded really silly if Tony Stark didnt build up his cred over years. Alcocholic, jerk, womanizer, yes. Hero, badass, person you dont mess with- HELL YEAH!

Actually, Deadpool is named after a Clint Eastwood / Dirty Harry movie, The Dead Pool. But generally speaking I agree with your point.
