When Titans Clash! "My goodness, Sue!" Reed exclaims. "I almost didn't recognize you in that wig. It's quite a transformation."Hubbins better get used to it. If Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Girl are going to have secret identities he'll be seeing a lot of it. Indeed, this could be a most curious venture. Sue is going off house-hunting in her section of the fabulous Fantasticar. She's turned up a prospect in Connecticut and as Mrs. Susan Benjamin has an appointment to see it at ten o'clock. The world famous Invisible Girl put lasagna in for dinner. So her husband, the leader of the Fantastic Four, just needs to turn on the oven at about 3:00. "I'll try to be back by then," Reed says. "I promised Wanda I'd stop by Avengers Mansion to look in on the Vision."* *The Vision was inexplicably felled by a null-field in Avengers #233. Susan Richards, no, Susan Benjamin walked into her husband's lab with an irrepressible grin. It *was* a good disguise, and what's more, there was something intoxicatingly freeing about not being recognizable. She had no anxiety about her meeting at 10:00. She would be whoever she decided to be.
She looked over Reed with a smile. He was clean shaven this morning, already working, steady hands, in his uniform already. She always liked to think that it was because he was ready for anything at a moment's notice, but she suspected it was more because the unstable molecules allowed him to use his abilities in his work.
The mention of Wanda's name piqued her concern more than anything. "Oh my, I hope he's alright. Let me know how he recovers, and tell Wanda hello for me. I really should call her." Sue has every confidence that Reed will solve whatever ails the Vision. It is a dangerous thing they did, and part of what she feared most was not being there to protect her family, at some point, it would be unhealthy, even irresponsible for her to go out with Reed and Ben and Johnny into dangerous situations. How would she manage?
"I really hope you get back in time, dear." She smiled softly as she walked over to him. She peeked at what he was working on, but she could only imagine what it really was. Setting a hand on his shoulder, she ran her hand along his chin. "Have you thought about your disguise? That handsome face is known all over the world, you know."

The Richards have tried before to go their separate ways, but circumstances have always necessitated their re-joining the Fantastic Four. They will not act out that pointless charade this time. It will not be easy, but Sue and Reed will try being both parents to their son, and continuing as the Invisible Girl and Mister Fantastic. But the recent awful business with Franklin is not the only reason for their decision to move. The... er, "rabbit died". And a newborn would be even more vulnerable to any of the Fantastic Four's many enemies. Twenty minutes later, Susan's section of the fabulous Fantasticar skims over the Atlantic coast. The beautiful countryside near the house for sale looks ideal already! Invisible Girl's Health: 3/3 Invisible Girl's Energy: 9/9 [In case you are unfamiliar with the rules for vehicles in game play from MURPG pg. 84, Invisible Girl has a high enough Intelligence to overcome the Difficulty of the Fantasticar Section. Invisible Girl can use either Intelligence or Agility to overcome the Fantasticar's Resistance to operate.]

OOC: Wait... did my random comment happen to line up with the way the comic goes??? That's crazy!!
Sue pilots the Fantasticar with a focused concentration. It was a ingeniously simple vehicle to pilot, actually, considering its versatility. She smiled as she looked over the beautiful coastline. There was something very rustic and charming about this side of the country, at least out in the countryside. Now she'd need to find a secluced place to put it down... and walk to her meeting. "I'm glad I'm a bit early. That means I'll have time to find a good hiding spot for the Fantasticar."

Discretely, craft and pilot land unseen. As she enters the spacious front porch, unbidden phantoms dance through Susan's mind... It's strange to think the Richards are really going to do it this time. They tried to find a house once before, just after Franklin was born. That search was a complete failure. But the Invisible Girl has a good feeling about this house. As if she's truly coming home at last. Invisible Girl's Health: 3/3 Invisible Girl's Energy: 9/9

Susan smiled, brushing her hands along the brick on the front porch. *It was nice.* Very nice. She tried to push the unpleasant thoughts from her mind. Instead of remembering what had gone so wrong, she tried to picture Franklin, running giddily up the stairs. A smile flashed wide on her face as she attempt to open the door and take a peek inside.
"Hello? Anyone here?" Her voice came out almost sing-song-y, she was so excited!

Invisible Girl"Mrs. Benjamin? Is that you?"Sue almost answers "No". She chose "Benjamin" as an easy name for her family to remember, but it looks as if this secret identity business may be trickier than she thought. She's too used to being called Susan Storm Richards.Susan Benjamin is greeted at the door by Martha Winslow, the lady she spoke to on the telephone. "I'm in charge of showing this house to prospective buyers. I suppose that's a step up from my normal role of next-door neighbor."This seems a very pleasant house. Sue loves the size of the rooms--at least what she's seen. But is the whole house paneled like the living room? It's a bit ...monotonous. Susan Benjamin smiles broadly at Ms. Winslow. "Well, if the house comes with you as a neighbor, Ms. Winslow, I like it more already." She really was a delighful little woman, and it'd be great to have someone down to earth in earshot.
She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly as she started picturing furniture in various positions through the house. The pathing from the kitchen through the dining room into the living room. The flow of it all. All those invisible lines. She looked around the living room and ran her hands over the paneling. "Do you know what's behind this paneling, Ms. Winslow? Oh, and can we look at some of the other rooms? I'd love to see the colors... Sue stopped for a moment. She was quite excited, as she began seeing how great this house could be for her family. They'd have to address that paneling issue. "Can you tell me about the family who lived her before?"

Public transportation was definitely the pits. First of all the seats were never designed to accommodate someone as large as the Thing. He basically had to take up two seats by himself. Second of all being a living public freakshow was not an enjoyable feeling. Thing wondered if Reed could design him some kind of personal transport for next time. Before grabbing a cab he decided to give Reed a head's up.
Using the closest payphone. "Hey Reed? It's Ben, I'm coming home. Oh and if you're not too busy can you and that fantastic egghead of yours come up with some kinda cool vehicle for me. Like personal transportation? Tanks." He hailed a cab and got in. It would be good to be home again soon. "Baxter building, make it fast," were the only words he had for the cabbie. =============== Thing's Health: 6/6 Thing's Energy: 18/18

Invisible GirlMartha says the paneling is just in the living room, upstairs hall and on one wall in the dining room. "Don't you like it? The kitchen is through here."Sue supposes if her family does end up buying they can always redecorate. The dining room looks nice though. Martha says she is a friend of the owners. "Faith and I go back just forever and ever! Umm, I don't think I asked what you and your husband do?" Invisible Girl's Health: 3/3 Invisible Girl's Energy: 9/9ThingReed was out when Ben called. Mister Fantastic stopped by Avengers Mansion to look in on the Vision, but the Thing doesn't know that. "H-Holy cat's!" The driver exclaims. "You're the Thing!"Thus the cab merges into the steel and rubber snake slithering slowly towards the midtown tunnel, as thoughts of the mighty-muscled Thing turn to darkness. When Ben thinks a' how glad he wuz ta hear Reed say th' FF ain't gonna break up, even though him an' Suzie are movin' outta th' Baxter Building, it don't hardly seem possible he could get turned around so much in just a coupla days. But Benjamin's faith in human nature's taken a heckuva poundin' lately, what with Quicksilver an' that kid, Lucas. Makes the Thing wonder if he's really cut out fer th' super-hero buz. Thing wasn't exactly sure what that was, but it looked like a brilliant beam of powerful energy had just shredded his taxi in half. He got out warily and asked the driver, "You alright, man? Keep your head low, I'm gonna take a look around." And that's exactly what he did, hoping to find the source of that blast of energy.

"Ok bozo, you've got serious anger issues!" The Thing could see that Tyros wasn't in a talking mood. It was time to knock this guy down a notch. Thing picked up one half of the taxi cab and tossed it at Tyros hoping to knock him down off his flying vehicle! If the vehicle headed Tyros' way was sufficient distraction, Thing would then seek shelter behind something of sufficient bulk.
