Their stats are there with Savage Land Portion, page 166, right after conclusion of the entire event. I used Graviton from there and had to scroll back and forth between him and Carnage. I should've written their stats somewhere else, but up until last moment I had no idea who should I use (also, my printer was dead, so I printed those in work).
Im not sure where I got these cheat sheet (probably found them on some forum when I googled reviews), but they came in handy. I tried finding some on homepage, but aside from Savage Land preview and Cap's sheet, there was nothing. You might wanna include something extra there.

If you got the game from DriveThruRPG, the cheat sheets are included in the PDF package, together with printer-friendly hero datafiles and the new Example of Play.

According to Amazon UK the book is out April 10, but I'll believe that when I see it. It's an odd way to launch a roleplaying game (or a book, or anything else) given that the PDF has been out a while and the basic book (as far as I know) won't differ. By the time it comes out there might be other event books to sell alongside it (unless they slip too)

We don't have any control over when Amazon decides to get its inventory sorted out. The book came back from the printer two weeks ago and should be at all distributors by now. We've sent out all of our preorders; anyone still waiting for one should get it Friday or Saturday in the USA.
And we don't have international distribution, which as far as I know includes Amazon UK. I don't know that you'll get anything from them under the current license agreement, not until we iron out an international agreement later this summer.
Cheers, Cam

Summer? *tumbleweed blowing through* Well, thanks for the update but that's crazy. MWP/Marvel/Disney should be punting this thing to coincide with the Avengers movie, cartoon show, the Spiderman film and the current wave of love on message boards and word of mouth. Last time I checked, those were world wide releases of movies and shows, not just the US, so it's something of a kick in the teeth to everyone else. I understand it's not your doing, and probably not MWP either, and that you won't/can't say anything against Marvel/House of Mouse but this seems daft. At least I suppose the PDFs will come out worldwide - until Disney figures out what they are stops the shipping of those out of the country too ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Lawyers, eh? *mutter, mumble*

I saw a copy of it today at my local comic store. At a glance, I can't tell if I like it. But what I saw was interesting enough to give it another look.

I tweaked the system a little bit and I might use it in a different game. I always wanted something that emulates good old samurai adventure stories and so far Coretex does that best. I took some liberties (time is ripe for me, so I'll make it quick): -I replaced "Affiliation" with "Motivation" - Beat (when you play aggresively, want to kill or at least beat up badly), Protect (when protecting yourself or others, by force or words alike) and Hide (when you dont want to get involved and ignore the situation) -Distinctions are more limited: one for your job description (ninja would have a different one then samurai or thief; even then one samurai would have different one then others), one for personality trait and one generic -each character has one power set as a part of his class (ninja would have "ninja tricks", bushi would get something sword related and so forth, with lots of SFX) -another power set is your current weapon (which are pregenerated to avoid powergaming) -specialties start from d6 and are less generic -I havent thought of milestones yet -every attack from bladed weapon IS LETHAL, unless you use PP/Doom Dice, then it works like regular stress
I havent tested it yet. Im aiming at the feeling of Usagi Yojimbo comics (I know there is a UY RPG, but its not all that good).
I hate L5R, by the way, dont mention it.

I'd never heard of the Cortex system before. I wouldn't mind trying to learn how a new system works. That's half the fun of gaming. Right? So, does anyone care to try explaining it? Perhaps with a couple examples? At a basic level... you build a die pool (whether you're acting or reacting) from various aspects on your sheet, with dice ranging from d4 to d12. You keep two dice to generate your total, and another as your "Effect Die" The number on the Effect Die doesn't matter, you want as big an Effect Die as possible, so sometimes it's tactical to take a lower total to have a higher Effect Die. Example: I'm Hydra Bob and I want to shoot someone who is sneaking up on Deadpool. I would build a die pool with an Affiliation (d10 for Buddy), a Distinction (Complete Coward, but in this case I'm playing against it and acting bravely, so instead of rolling a d8, I'll take a Power Point and roll a d4), my Hydra Blaster d8 (from my Hydra Equipment Power Set), and a d8 for Covert Ops, since the guy I'm shooting doesn't know I'm there. I roll; (formatted as result/die type) 7/10, 2/4, 6/8, 6/8 I could build get a total of 13 with a d8 effect die, but I decide to risk it and take a total of 12 (from the 2 8 siders) with a d10 effect die, because I really want to impress Deadpool. From there, it gets more complicated, but that's the basics. The guy I'm shooting would then build his own die pool to create a reaction. He would want to beat my 12 total. If he tied, the higher effect die would win out. Assuming he fails to react and takes the hit, the guy is now at d10 Physical Stress, which means that he's basically two hits from a KO at this point, and that anyone rolling against him in a PHysical situation can add that d10 to their roll as well. what's good, everyone? wild, thank you for this example it is soooo much clearer than the play by example page over at the cortex site. had the book in hand for 2 weeks now, just started the flight's campaign using a simple bank robbery (well except the 'robbers" were using raider armor. and the leader was using his own power armor suit... this example you choose makes it easier to streamline now.as far as the game system itself: the narrative aspect of it is ok, it makes the game really "hand wavy, with a lot of loose partrs , milestoners, generalized skills, makes pcs so homogenized..i understand that you didn't want to benchmark attributes, but it kinda takes away from it being superheroic, in my opinion. the chargen, meh. needs more specialization to give character flavor..already built stormknight, now i have all these convesion to go) i chose to use a d6 ( or adept level) with specialties and powers..and is considering a "exploding" die mechanic for effects results..( to represent the supreme effort). the game has potential..just a little rough around the edges

My suggestion? Play it a few sessions before you go ahead and try to smooth out any rough edges you see in it just from reading it. You may find they're not as rough as you think.
Cheers, Cam
