I may have downloaded an ish or two recently.
What I gathered~
Cyke has turned near Magneto-esque in outlook and actions, to the point Wolverine calls him out for sending kids into battle (what appears to be a potentially suicide battle/last-stand on Utopia).
The two start fighting over the decision to use the students as soldiers in this... cold war. Wolverine has been dodging 'combat' training sessions with the kids for months or something like that, because he thinks they shouldn't be teaching the kids that kind of stuff at all.
While I don't read these things regularly anymore... I can't help but wonder how Scott went from Charles' lap-boy dogma adherent to near polar opposite. I can't help but wonder at Wolverine's avoidance in training the young mutants to be combat prepared.
I *DO* however like what I've seen of Uncanny X-Force.

This is the one where the Wolverine and Cyclops rivalry finally comes to a boil and, apparently, the X-Men split in half. So its a crossover where Wolverine and a bunch of other mutants move away? Got it. It makes sense, we just had one where Cable dies last year so I doubt we're due for another of those until at least next summer.

My wife learned about this on Yahoo News before I did, so I have to give kudos to Marvel's PR department for advertising something other than the death of a well known and well liked character.

I expect there to be some kind of shake up with the Avengers then, because Wolverine, even with his 'secondary mutation' (of being in half a dozen places at once) is far too over-used. Once upon a time I liked the character (probably when he first appeared) but I've long since burnt out on him. Whatever happened to Professor X anyway? *shows lack of interest in current X-Men continuity*
And is the stripper who used to knock about with the Hellfire club still on the scene?

I haven't read any X-Men comics (not counting Ultimate X-Men) in quite a while, so I can't answer your questions, but aren't basically all women in comic books strippers? ;D

Whatever Wolverine gets up to these days, at least Marvel have the kids best interests at heart. I mean, look at this great blow up doll thing: That looks like loads of erm, fun. And speaking of the White Queen, you can never see too many stripper I mean Emma Frost pictures. Yes, I can see the parents shrugging in indifference to both those things... It's a far cry from: Ah, the good old days *sigh* Saying that, I'll bet Magneto wasn't exactly cacking himself when faced by a guy with wings and what looks to be a metal pipe, someone with really big feet and a dictionary to hand, a young woman who looks rather distressed by all that's going on and a kid whose power is to chuck snowballs. At least Cyclops is making an effort to kick the bad guys ass. I'm in Cyclops' corner I think with any X-Men line up. I find it hard to take Wolverine seriously these days because he pops up so often.

It's nice to have someone else around who is sick of Wolverine. I used to really like that guy, too.

It's a far cry from: Ah, the good old days *sigh* I had a trading card of that cover (back before CCGs were around). The only difference is the characters looked less like a cartoonist did it, and more like live actors posed for it. It was cool, I'll see if I can't find it on the web.

I love that old X-Men cover. We have:
Cyclops, fighting a bad guy! Iceman, fighting a bad guy! Beast, fighting a bad guy! Angel, fighting a bad guy! Marvel Girl, present.
I miss Emma Frost's old Hellfire Club outfits. They were skimpy and everything, but at least they usually looked like real clothes. What the hell is supposed to be holding any of that up? Is it just made of tape? Is she wearing white duct tape?

That's one of the unspoken abilities of unstable molecules. Or something.
Anyway, Jean Grey is fighting Magneto, but she's telekinetic, it's invisible. Or something.

If I recall, she has dashed lines coming out of her head to indicate her excellent (20) level telekinesis having absolutely no effect on Magnetos' Unearthly (100) wobbly line forcefield or something. Back then the ladies of Marvel were hostages or eye candy. Nowadays they all have 6 packs and declare themselves to be the most powerful member of the team (at least that's what Invisible Woman does. And none of the men argue, so she's really got them under the thumb. My money would be on the Human torch though. Well, if he wasn't dead. Which we all know he isn't because no one saw him die and nobody stays dead and so on...)

Don't remind my brother though... he's still mad about that.
