What all's been going on with this? I can't find anything with regards to reviews and synopses online. Is it any good?

I like to keep up with Chris's Invincible Super-Blog. It's usually very funny and well-written. Recently, he linked to a review he did for the Comics Alliance. So yeah, I haven't read it myself (I don't read many comics these days, to be honest), but X-Men: Schism is recommended by someone whose opinion I trust.

Thanks! How's it going, by the way? I don't see your around here or the 'book much anymore!

I'm alright. It's been a while since I came on the boards to do anything other than update my games, but I thought I might as well...

Well, don't be a stranger! If you have the time, I'm starting a new game using Mutants and Masterminds rules and I think you'd be great in there. If not, you should stop in some Wednesday when a handful of us D&D on a video/chat client, although I guess it'll also be around 3:00am for you, which is a touch ridiculous.

Is this another big crossover that centers around Wolverine moving or is it one where Cable dies? Those seem to be the only type of X-Men stories they tell anymore.

This is the one where the Wolverine and Cyclops rivalry finally comes to a boil and, apparently, the X-Men split in half.

Took em long enough. Maybe Cyc will put the Canucklehead in his place.

Took em long enough. Maybe Cyc will put the Canucklehead in his place. Oh please. Like Marvel would ever stop doing fanservice long enough to have a genuine hero stand up to a selfish putz like Wolverine.

... and Marvel continues giving me reasons to never pick up one of their comic books again.

I'm okay with Wolverine leading mutants. I'm actually okay with that. I've already had my appreciation for the character beaten so deeply in the ground, and so long ago, that I've mourned and moved on to the point where I feel basically nothing for him.
But I do not like the idea of him being a headmaster at a school for mutants. This irks me on a number of levels - primarily the one where I thought the X-Men were past this whole "school for mutants" thing in the actual comic book world. Not to mention the difficulty not laughing at the idea of Wolverine as a nurturing teacher with an office and a desk, probably with an apple on it.
"Another thing you learn about Wolverine is that he's not a micro-manager." NOBODY GIVES A #%@*.

NO WOLVERINE'S METHODS ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM XAVIER'S HE'S GONNA BE THE ROUGH TOUGH BOSS THAT THE KIDS ALL HATE BUT RESPECT BECAUSE HE'S GOT EXPERIENCE AND CAN KILL THEM.
PLUS IT'S NOT LIKE CYCLOPS COULD BE A GOOD HEADMASTER HE JUST WHINES AND MOANS ALL THE TIME. YOU DON'T WANT SOME LITTLE PANSY LEADING SUPERHEROES, DO YOU? WE NEED DEADPOOL TO BE THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL SO THESE KIDS CAN LEARN HOW TO DO SHIT RIGHT.

Brainstem was clearly possessed by some kind of 14 year old fanboy there.
ANYWAY... Wolverine leading anyone is assanine to me. The concept makes no sense. Only an idiot would follow Wolverine, which means that not only is Wolverine a tool, all of the other mutants are apparently too stupid to realize it.

I'm sorry, there's no way I can join in your D&D sessions and still function as a relatively normal human being. Yeesh. Um, I've never played Mutants and Masterminds. I can take a look at your new game, though.
