Blasting is practically unstoppable + flight. And using blasting to fly around...Might not be the best idea lol. I mean you COULD, but you can really only fly in a straight line only. ..I think..

You don't. If your GM allows you to use Blasting as Flight, he's naïve and is in for a Hell of a game. Blasting is not a movement power and shouldn't be permitted to be used as one. Build your character with two separate powers and, if you really want it to function in one Action Box, then buy the two and combine boxes.

As fare as I understand about blasting, yYou simply use the flight speed for calculating Blastings speed.
And the disadvantage with blasting, is that there is no way you can be stealthy with it. You will always be noticed. Another thing which I prefere using with it, you can't pick people up since you would be "blasting" into them.

Man, I want to play in a game with you. I'll take Close Combat and a few Advantages to use it at Range and then just Teleport all over the field.

Well that's just silly.
I would just use the flight chart.
Cannonball seems to zip around with that power just fine over long distances, and HAS carried passengers. IIRC the forcefield is already self only though.

I think the main differences are:
1) No hovering. As some who've tried in my game to do, adding in a +1 or +2 to hover, I simply do not allow it. You're blasting... there simply is no hovering.
2) No stealth. You're not just going fast, you're trailing a plume of smoke and fire.
3) most Flight people will only put a single stone into flight, since it's movement only and 1 stone will let you go pretty damn fast. 1 stone into Blasting = pretty weak forcefield. You'll expend a lot more energy with blasting than flying.

I don't know where the "No Hovering" thing comes from. Cannonball can pretty clearly hover. In fact, he's doing it on my "New Mutants" vintage t-shirt. The Force Field is not self only, it protects everyone he carries.
The fact is, there is NO real reason not to buy Blasting over Flight, if you're using the RAW. Sure, it's loud. Sure, you'll spend more energy. You also get several times the bang for the same buck. One of the most broken low stone count characters I ever saw was Blasting + Force Blast. He would blast at something, bowl through it, then turn around and shoot it the next panel while his Force Field was still up... then turn around and do the same thing all over again. IMO, it has to be the most boring to play build I've ever seen, but if you're insistent on RAW, it was totally legit.
As the great DK23 said long ago... every time RAW has to be invoked, I die a little inside.

You know? I always thought you couldn't hover with Blasting, that's why I put an advantage on a Blasting character I had to allow him to hover... go figure.

You can't hover with Blasting. Unlike Flight which doesn't give restrictions to aerial movement, Blasting says that using it, you're "rocketing through the air" and that it's similar to "Unstoppable".
And "Leaves a rocket-like trail of smoke and fire"

You can't hover with Blasting. Prove it. Find text in the wording of the power that says you cannot hover. Sam Guthrie is THE Blaster in Marvel comics... and he hovers. Cannonball is one of my favorite X-family characters. He not only hovers, he's always been able to hover. Back in the day, it wasn't all that unusual to see him just hanging out in the air with a trail of flame where his legs should be. Face facts; you're making excuses to try to balance a badly written action. The truth is, Blasting as written is just too good for the price. Ramrodding limitations onto it to balance it is fine, but don't act like they were meant to be there all along.

I did prove it, in my last post. Comics are non-animated, any image of him can look like he's hovering.

There's a difference between the two, and the comics ARE clear on the fact that Sam can hover. He's had conversations while just floating there. That'd be mighty tricky given your understanding of his power.

I already find it frustrating that my GF paces madly around her apartment any time she's on the phone. She can't talk on the phone while sitting still.
