I just joined today and theres a lot of stuff to read. But I don't think I'll have to read half of it if just one simple qustion is awnsered. Dose this forum use the rules from the mavel univeres RPG book's.
If so I could wipe up a character in no time I've been GMing for a while.

40 stones is the 'standard' suggested by the book. But online here all games start out at varying stone costs, determined by the GM of the game ahead of time.

And to add to what Patrel said, when you're ready to join a game, visit the board titled "General Online RP Discussion"
Any thread with "New Game" or a variation of that is usually... a new game looking for potential players. That thread should have all the requirements for your character (which includes the stone count).

That's variable depending on the GM and how (s)he wants to run the game. Some games are higher powered, others are lower; its all relative.
