Computers comes as a powerful action for anyone who wants to play behind the scenes. Less expencive than Tech, comes with specialities, and can even be used as a weak version of the Invention aciton.
With only a single modifier, the ability to interface with computers via cybernetic implant, telepathy, or whatever, it leaves the character builder wishing for more.
New Options:
Travel the Internet (Cost Level +1, must already have Interface option) You do not have to be in contact with the computer you are interfacing with in order to view data stored on that computer. Instead, you must be interfacing with any other computer hooked to the same network or onto the internet.
Basicly Telepathy for computers. For another +2 cost level, you can become one with the computers, transmitting yourself in a way akin to Astral Projection.
Psycho Spike wants to attack a local crime syndicate's base, which has an elaborate set of security measures. He could never get there to disable the computer himself, however he knows a where theres an internet hookup neerby. He simply plugs in his laptop, interfaces with the computer, and mentaly shuts down the syndicate's cameras and uses his remaining stones to travel directly to the base, shooting along through fiber-optic lines as pure data and energy.
Wikipedia (Cost Level +1) You are good at gathering info from sourses like the Wikipedia. By taking one pannel of preperation, you can search the databanks of the Wikipedia and find whatever information you need (as a General Knowledge or Science action with 1/2 the normal resistance).
If you have the Inference option, for an extra +1 cost level this action can be used from anywhere, even when there is not a computer you can access directly, as you have downloaded a vast ammount of data from the internet directly into your brain.
The Ubergeek needs to find out some information quick about the effects of a drug that a local gang is running. In only a few seconds of surfing the web, he locates the information he needs on a website linked to on the Wikipedia.
Mental Haxorz (+1 cost level) Your mind works differently than normal people. You gain mental defence equal to your action number in Computers. If you have the Inference option, for an additional +1 cost level you can deflect mental attacks that do not overcome your bonus gained by Mental Haxorz, but only attacks that do not overcome that bonus alone.
Overmind has a Computer action number of 7 with the Mental Haxorz and Inference options. He is attacked with a Mental Bolt of 5 (Telepathy) and may deflect it (as though he has Telepathy with the option "Reflect mental attacks on attacker, up to action number). The next turn, his assailent's friend attacks him with a Psi-Weapon (mental) for 9 stones. Though his Mental Haxorz protects him for 7, he cannot deflect the attack, even if some other form of protection reduces it further.
