Well, instead of this being what appears to be a prime example of mindless spam... let's think on this. How could a Master of Momentum work?
There would have to be more to it than what it would seem like. I suppose transforming into the element could function as Unstoppable, considering momentum cannot be stopped, only redirected. A force blast would make sense. Create/Manipulate maybe to send objects shooting forward? Maybe that would be the Force Blast instead?
It could actually be interesting, but its kind of convoluted. Maybe we can make some sense of it, eh?

Wouldent it a kind of Mastery of Kinetic Energy? As fare as i recal, momentum is a form of moving energy.

well sory guys if i this is what you call spamming but, a character that has a power stop moving object without physicaly interfering with it. it's not telekenetic nor is it magnetism... it's adding and removing resistance to an action. ... huh wait i' am spamming

Nah, its just that the first post was kind of... more of a statement than a discussion piece, ya know? I just kind of took what you were going at and restated it, I suppose. Anything you've worked through that could shine some light on this? It could definitely be a good power for someone to have. It would also be able to better explain Blob or Juggernaut.

i have know of this char that emmits beams that stops/slow anything - ex. cannonballs, ships even people. when he uses it on a person the peson stops/slowed then he bashes him multiple time piling up the kenetics then releases - whamm massive damages. his challeges is his beams can be easily raflected back by a mirror and is as stupid as doorknob

I think I like the sound of that. I'm gonna try to work something out here.
- Immunity to momentum. Sounds a lot like immovability. - Transform self into momentum. I don't think this would work very well. - Create/manipulate momentum. Okay, so this could be close to TK. It misses a lack of control though, maybe this should be limited by touch, but that would mean that you can't stop objects from flying into you. - Force blast. This should be turned into a form of ranged combat I guess. This is a lot like create/manipulate, only this can't stop momentum. Think spider-girl. - Unstoppable. Can be bought at an discount, Blasting could also be a possibility. - Combine with Close Combat. Adds some extra momentum to your punch.
Somehow, I've got the feeling that this is a really powerful mastery. Can you imagine what happens if someone would decide you should go upwards. Not pretty. I think this might need 2 extra levels for having an extraordinary scope.

i think this mastery shoudn't be too powerful. i like to build it like this: -Create/Manipulate momentum - total control of stone used for speed/weight of object. close range. ex. stop/lift Juggernaut/Blob. ex. can't bash through things that the character can't normally break.(I imagine juggy bashing his head in x-men 3) ex. can jump/leap long ranges but can't change direction mid jump, capable of soft landing. can you guys see where i'm getting at or am i trapped in limbo

Reminds me of a villain idea of mine. The dude's Momentum Mastery took the form of projected energy in one of three colors: Red to stop movement, Yellow to control it (like TK), Green to create it. Really, it was just fancy TK with a stoplight motif. Some more ideas might be Sense Momentum (Prescience, physical objects only), Maintain Momentum for tireless effortless travel ("an object in motion tends to stay in motion"), Force Field (physical only) or maybe Physical Invulnerability, or Absorption like the Black King's .... The Unstoppable Juggernaught vs. Immovable Blob question in another thread also brought up the idea of an Immovable character who isn't just fastened to the ground, but is really Immovable. A Master of Momentum might be able to fly (or Blast) by giving himself upward and forward momentum, and then come to a complete, Immovable, airborne stop on a dime! I can also see that momentum involves building up energy, so one Option could involve keeping Stones from earlier effort for free (sort of like Magic Mastery's Accumulate Energy Modifier).... say, this IS a potentially rough-n-tough Mastery, ain't it?

what's was your "shudders" villain's name??? I never decided on one, because I couldn't make up my mind whether to go goofy (Dr. Stoplight, Stop-N-Go) or straight (the Kineticist or something). Are you shuddering because he sounds so tough or because of the words "STOPLIGHT MOTIF"?

Soo if m=m*v then MoMomentun could:
*be faster than a speeding lazer beam *able to leap over the sun in single bound, but die in space. *stronger than a locomotive yet looks like Bill Gates
look up in the sky! it's a bird, it's a plane, no it's a Dime!!!
ehem... anyhooooo how much would i buy it with these mods: *M/C Momentum - close range effect: manipulate any moving object w/i C.R. ex. stop/slow/apply r to speed of any moving object, can't change it's direction. (force field???) *Can apply to self - leap, float, +AN to speed/str./agi.

I'm confused now, I tried to create a character with Mastery of momentum but I'm having some troubles with these options. - Create/Manipulate momentum by touch. - Use as ranged combat/Throwing heavy objects. - Change your personal momentum, as leaping/negating falling damage (Transform?).
The last 2 are apparently almost the same as the first one, so what should I take?
And it's: p = mv.
