Translation Sam, it's far to late. Indeed. The name of the game, as they say, is "I win" Even if its just in your head. Back to topic, when I first heard of "they gave Collossus powers of cyttorak", few questions popped out in my mind. Why - what did it change in character dynamic? What about Flint Marco? I liked him as a one-note villain/sometimes anti-hero. How long will it last- becouse I know its not permanent. Did they really think people would be surprised by this? Its Marvel we're talking about, weird stunts was their game since the start of 2000's. Overall, my opinion is "meh", but only becouse I never cared for Collossus or X-men in general.

I have not read the Fear Itself crossover, but from my understanding is that the original Juggernaught somehow become this supper powerful godlike creacture and aquired a serpentine hammer from some evil lost God and Marko was going in a rampage destroying cities etc.
So, Colossus made a deal with the demon of the Gem of Cyttorak to save everything and he fought Marko. The gem increased Colassus stength and durability but in his monolague he admited he was still not as strong as Marko but when they got into there "pushing" match the juggernaught is unstoppable so Colossus won.
Now he fights the demon inside of the gem for control a a low level basis when he is normal jugs and on an epic scale when he "Juggs out". The cool thing is that the demon powered gem is not evil per say, but is all about destruction, etc.
If that makes sense.

Poorly executed. Why does Marvel hate the magic scene so much?

Poorly executed. Why does Marvel hate the magic scene so much? To be fair, magic is EXTREMELY hard to write in comic books. There are literally no rules. One of the guys who "ended" Doctor Strange pointed out that he was nearly impossible to write for, because there was NO situation that you could write him into that logically, he shouldn't be able to get out of via well-established abilities he's shown a number of times before. If Marvel ever does a "Nu52" style reboot, they desperately need to establish some rules for magic, to make it less of a deus ex.

Perhaps the ultimate evidence to back this up is that, aside from Kryptonite, Superman's only other weakness is magic. Why? Because what the hell else would be? Magic can do anything. ~TWF

A dark side and the need to decide when to buff up for extra power sounds like a nice idea for a new character. Colossus already has his own powers, so adding this on top feels like they're admitting that he's boring all on his own. ~TWF IMO, the last think X-Men needs is more characters =P

While its true that magic can be too easy a dues ex machina without rules, it’s a bit hypocritical for Bendis (the guy who used it as justification for nerfing Dr. Strange) to make that claim after writing both Avengers: Disassembled and House of M. Both stories revolve around Scarlet Witch going crazy and becoming much more powerful than she’d ever been previously. Heck, Dr. Strange was the one that Bendis had come in to save the surviving Avengers at the end of Disassembled. (Of course modern Marvel has a tendency to create problems just so they can “fix” them so maybe I souldn’t single Bendis out here.)

Read A vs X #2. Spiderman was whupped by Colossus (rightly so) and never stood a chance. Even before his power up, I'd have put money on Colossus. Only problem is they seem to have turned him into some muscle bound thicko. I suppose it doesn't matter when your strength has been amped to Hulk levels and you are nigh on invulnerable. Easy way to beat him is toss him into orbit though, as he sees fairly ponderous and if you're strong enough to do that (Hulk, thor etc) you don't need to worry about him dying.
