I'm working on a new RPG based on the rules of MURPG. I was working on one of the races abilities, and hit something that seems familiar... though I don't know off hand if there is something in this system that represents it.
The race is one of arachnids. Basically your garden variety bird eating spider, and most of their abilities have to do with their webs. The ability that I'm having trouble with is... might be easier to explain with an example.
The spider has Ninja 2 (specialties: stalk, assassination). His puppet is a feline with Ninja 3 (specialties: Stalk, Assassination, Silent Movement) While using this ability, the spider is able to control the actions of his puppet, and add his AN to the puppets AN (thus his effective Ninja AN is 5) however, he only has access to his own specialties (he can use stalk at AN 5, or Assassination at AN 5, but not Silent Movement) There are certain limitations on this power. For instance, it uses the spiders webs to form a neural bond (first having to overcome the felines ability to dodge the attack, then having to overcome any mental resistance).
The first question is whether this is a preexisting ability, or at least if there is something that would be similar enough to be modified (maybe a form of Transference)? The other is, are there any specific problems anyone sees right away?

Simply telepathy... Just add some appropriat cost levels to it, and youre there... But i kinda dislike the "Add own AN to the puppets"... Im not sure how the power is suppose to work, but from the sound of it, he takes control of the entire body, which would implie that the person would have no free will at all.
Its abit hard to explain, but it just seems wrong that someone with a lower level AN can combine it with a higher one... He dosent have the same experience as the puppet.

Thanks for the help Neros. I am still working the kinks out of the races. Most of the races are going to be a little over the top (i.e. bears that are 25' when standing, rather than 9, with a coresponding increase in strength) and I want to get a general feel for their abilities before I start worrying about balance. ...How does it sound if the arachnids could add their AN to their puppets up to their own AN? To use the example proposed earlier the effective AN would be 4 instead of the 5 that comes up when you add the ANs directly.
