Im very busy on the House Rule board havent i This is another problem im having with the system. Before anybody can work together, they have to have the same AN#/Ability #... Which would mean side kick types wouldent be able to help at all. I dont see the big problem when dealing with none combat situations. Each player places stones, then substract a number of stones, which equal the difference in level (showing the less experienced player will drag the other down... Maybe if both had the same Speciality, this could be negated).... In combat situations, its another matter, since its not suppose to be to powerful, but yet, its still suppose to be useful. There was a suggestion once, that if two characters had the same speciality (atleast one), they would be able to work together effectively... Not sure how this would work however... Maybe 1 "Main" attacker, and for every other "Supporter", the main attacker would gain a +1 to his/her attack.... Hmmm... Would make those armies of goons and thugs much more dangerous...

If you work with the idea that the level of power is expodential in MURPG and that a power of 1 is not 1/5 of a power of 5 then you can understand that 10 goons all shooting at The Blob is still not going to help vs 2 goons.
Another part of this is realisticly how many people can be attacking another person at any single time without such things as Superspeed and Mental Assualts....that would be 5 for people on the ground and 6 if they are in the air. Having an army of 100 goons attacking Wolverine would be the same as 4 of them, just 25 times in a row. Goons are ment to slow hero's down and/or tire them out before they get to the main badguy....not be real effective.

I think the reason for requiring the same AN is that a less skilled person doesn't actually add much to the efforts of a more skilled one. At least they wouldn't help in the amount that a +1 to overcome resistance means. In combat, having a unskilled goon on your team doesn't actually help, they usually just get in the way (I've done it, as the skilled one and the goon). Similarly a person with a strength of 4 couldn't really help much if a person with a strength of 5 or more was trying to lift something.
Actually thanos pretty much has it, I just elaborated.
