Iron Man remained airborne, presenting a moving target as he opened fire on the Wrecking Crew members piloting their walking tank with both of his repulsor rays...
===================
Action: Shoot Bulldozer and Piledriver with his repulsors; I didn't get a resolution for my last post, so I'm still not totally sure if I would need two different rolls for shooting at two targets or one roll that counts for both. I'll roll twice, but just take the first one if only one result is needed...

Iron Man has returned and makes two attacks each requiring a 76 to hit because he suffers a -1 CS for attacking while moving. Both Andrew's rolls would have missed, but because it was my mistake this didn't happen sooner, I'm going to roll for him again. Blast Bulldozer? pxChQ9db1-100Blast Piledriver? 1-100Bulldozer's Excellent (20) Body Armor provides some protection from Iron Man's Amazing (50) repulsors. However, Iron Man also scored a Red result with his 99. An earlier version of the game would make this a "Kill" result, but Iron Man's repulsors are supposed to be non-lethal, so they will act as a Force attack resulting in a Stun result. A stun has the potential of taking the villain out of the fight for a number of turns. Bulldozer must make an Endurance FEAT roll with his Incredible Endurance. 1-100 White: Buldover is stunned for 1-10 turns. Good shot Iron Man! The unconscious Bulldozer falls off the tripod right at the feet of the Hulk, who just leaped there. Meanwhile, the Human Torch tries an attack on the Wrecking Crew member closest to him, Thunderball! Johnny is moving and so is Thunderball, so the attack is at -2 CS. roxolid needs a 46, but only rolled a 23. He decided to spend Karma though, so after subtracting 23 Karma, he hits. Thunderball's dense flesh provides Excellent body armor. Different versions of the rules differ on how much this should protect against an energy attack like the Human Torch's flame. Because the NEW (1991) Revised Edition of the Marvel Super Heroes Basic Set has already provided better rules for distance attacks and force attacks, I'm going to differ to this version for Body Armor and most other rules. Thunderball reduces Johnny's attack by the full 20 points of his armor, suffering 80 Health points. He's hurt bad, but not out.
In case you are wondering how I'm managing the bad guys, I'm giving as many villains a chance to attack against player heroes as there were player heroes that just posted. So since Iron Man, Hulk and Human Torch just went, Piledriver, Thunderball and Enchantress are going to respond. First, Piledriver is going to fire back at Iron Man using one of the two cannons mounted on the gunnery platform. He needs a 56 to hit (-2 CS because Iron Man flies between 5 and 10 areas/round). 1-100Iron is hit by a high-energy electron beam that causes Unearthly force damage! Fortunately, Rodey's armor absorbs 50 points of that damage, but he still loses 50 Health! Enchantress now spies a big green target that just leaped onto the battlefield...the Hulk! She's not moving, but the Hulk is, so she rolls on the Good column and needs a 46 to hit. 1-100So, moving on to Thunderball, he whirls his wrecking ball above his head and then throws it at the Human Torch. Angered by having been flambeed, he's spending Karma on this thrown weapon attack, needing a 56 to hit his 8 areas/round flying target. 1-100Thunderbal hits! But would have been better off missing. His iron wrecking ball is made of Remarkable material, which melts under the heat of Johnny's energy sheath. Thunderball is also down 10 Karma from 36 to 26. Magnus took the time to study the geological anomaly, using all his not-incosiderable scientific knowledge.
Furthermore, if possible, he attempts to hone in on any electromagnetic anomalies by tapping into his EM vision to perceive the world around him as energy patterns.

Also, I do recall that Mags can see into the EM spectrum. Not sure if that's possible for this iteration.

Dodging (New Version): Effective only against ranged attacks and charging attacks. A character who dodges may also perform other non-movement actions (such as hitting an opponent), but all his FEATs have a -2 CS penalty (including the Dodge roll itself). [Note: Moving and dodging would only incur a -1 CS to the Dodge roll. Moving, dodging and attacking would be a -3 CS to both the dodge and the attack rolls.] After announcing dodging, the player controlling the dodging character makes an Agility FEAT. That roll determines the effect of his dodge on all ranged attacks and charges against him that turn. The results can be no effect or a 2, 4, 6 column shift. Healing: A player normally heals Health points equal to his Endurance rank every hour of light activity (no world-saving stunts). Full rest or doctor's care doubles the healing rate (Endurance rank every half-hour).
Spider-Man deftly joins the battle, having a -4 CS dodge bonus thanks to WildKnight's roll of 70 in the Incredible column (it was -1 CS from Amazing Agility because of the movement). Wolverine's attempt to tear Kang apart would have scored a Stun, but Kang's armor is currently generating a force field of Unearthly power, effective protection from Logan's claws. Hulk's roll of 67 gives him a partial hold on the gunnery platform; he's grabbed hold of a leg. No damage is inflicted on the target, (despite the look of the picture above), but it receives a -2 CS on all FEATs for as long as Hulk maintains the hold and since Hulk is the strongest one there is, the tripedal gunnery platform can't move.
Spider-Man's approach has caught the attention of Piledriver, not that it's going to be easy for him to draw a bead on his target. He suffers a -1 CS due to Spider-Man's movement, -4 CS from Peter Parker's Dodge and -2 CS to use the gunnery's electron beam cannon because Hulk is rockin' the platform! Still, Piledriver's attempt can't go below Shift 0 and I'm no longer ruling this would be an automatic miss. So if Piledrizer gets a 66 or above, he will hit! 2bjjxDOZ1-100But he misses. Thunderball needs Kang's help against Human Torch, and to get it, he's willing to trade dancing partners with Kang. Coming from behind, Thunderball tries to grapple Wolverine! 1-100Close, but no. Since he had to move to get to Wolverine, Thunderball needed a 66 just to get a partial hold, but he did get the mutant's attention. Kang, more concerned with saving the tripod than helping the wrecking-ball-less Thunderball, leaves him to the feral X-Man and rushes forward 3 areas, dropping his force field to fire at Hulk! 1-100 And he misses.
Magneto senses that straight ahead of him (EAST) is a damp region, while forward and to his right (SOUTHEAST) he senses a bizarre almost writhing landscape. Ahead and to his left (NORTHEAST) appears to be more of the same layered geological formations he is in now. Magneto must decide in which direction he should go. Still reeling after being blasted by the tripod's guns, Iron Man quickly decided that he did not want to be on the receiving end of another shot like that. He knew he could not afford for his armour to become severely damaged, not here on this strange world where getting repairs would be much easier said than done. And so he decided to try and make sure Piledriver would be in no position to use those powerful guns again, while also flying out of the tripod's firing zone, by divebombing the Wreckin Crew member in an attempt to knock him straight off the top of his mobile artillery platform...
===========================================
Action: Fly on to the tripod with a charging attack on Piledriver to try and knock him off the platform (and end up on top of it myself, so hopefully outside the arc of it's guns); spending karma to try and get a Slam or Stun result, something that will help dump Piledriver over the side of the tripod...

Material Strength: Heroes can easily (automatically, that is) break through materials with intensities three or more ranks less than their Strength ability. Items one or two ranks less require a Green FEAT roll result, intensities equal to their Strength require a YELLOW result and materials with a strength one rank higher may only be broken with a Red result. Fighting in the Air:- A character in flight can be slammed regardless of the target's body armor.
- A character suffering from a great slam is moved away at the airborne speed, not the ground speed.
- A character charging from the air, dropping straight down, gains a +4 CS to hit.
Hulk easily breaks the platform's steel leg (Remarkable Material Strength). As it topples, Spider-Man destroys one of it's two high-energy electron beam cannons and Iron Man charges into Piledriver from above. Piledriver suffers 55 points of damage and must check against his Remarkable Endurance or be slammed. _vjZIQoQ1-100Piledriver is knocked into the adjacent area, just as Iron Man intended. Three areas away, Wolverine lunges at Thunderball, and because he is an Incredible fighter, he hits! Wolverine's Class 1000 material claws easily tear apart Thunderball's Excellent body armor and inflicts 20 damage...unless Logan wishes to kill his human opponent. Wolverine has no bad feelings about killing in combat. In this adventure, Wolverine suffers no Karma penalty for slaying an "Evil" opponent. Wolverine will still lose Karma for killing heroes (including Magneto), or for letting innocents die. So will Wolverine inflict 20 or 75 damage? JuggerPool decides.
Suddenly, Ultron appears! The insane robot projects beams of radiation at the Hulk. 1-100But for some reason, no one seems to be able to hit the Hulk. Perhaps, this is why Kang the Conqueror now trains his electron beam weapon on Spider-Man. 1-100Spider-Man is hit, suffering 100 points of Health damage! (Not to mention the wear and tear on his costume.) Then Kang, not wanting his armor to be similarly scuffed up, activates his personal force field. Piledriver, gets up from his prone position and starts running back in the direction the villains came from. And since we don't know yet whether Thunderball lives or dies, let's change scenes.
Magneto enters a nightmarish landscape of pinkish "worms" clustered around hot pools of salt water and mud-holes. The landscape writhes, but whether it is alive or only a radical geological formation is a matter of conjecture. Although Rhodey had been hoping to commandeer the tripod from the Wrecking Crew, he saw the other heroes had decided to go for a simpler "Let's Smash It!" strategy. And while he did not really approve of them wasting potential resources when they were stranded on this alien world, he knew he could always rely on his battle suit even if the fancy electron cannons had been crumpled beyond repair. So Iron Man opened fire again, this time hoping to blast Kang with his repulsor rays before the villain could power-up his force field again...
