This year has been pretty eventful for me, and I have so much to be thankful for. Post what you're thankful for.
1. Alice in Chains New Album. What a wait it was for that! 2. I finally got to fine tune my Martial Arts skills, and am getting back into shape. 3. I got Promoted. Everything I've done after College has surpassed what I did while I was in college. 4. I actually feel in love for the fist time in a very long time. We have still taking that one kind of slow, but sometimes the journey is as important as the destination. It's a long term thing for me opposed to a short term thing. Which hasn't happened in over 6 years now. 5. The Creation of Life. Two of my best friends had a child, my sister is having a baby boy next month, and my oldest niece (brothers daughter) is having a kid in about 7 months or so. 6. Friendship. I've Lost friends, but I've gained something I thought I never would have with the friends I have now. There's a life and death bond that's had to explain. Those of you who have seen violence and death know what kind of bond I'm talking about, but there's a closeness there that has surpassed anything I ever knew about compassion or empathy. 7. Self Improvement. I am not the same person I was 12 months ago. I completed my new years resolution early, I've grown as a person, and I will continue and grow to help others. I've been pretty messed up before, but I feel like i'm on the right track now. I'm where I should have been several years ago

Let's see... I can sum up what I'm thankful for in one word: Family. Whether they be actual family or friends the level of family, I'm thankful for them all. I mean I'm thankful for all the little stuff too, but family is the big one.

My turn. 1) As Dionon put it so well, Family. My family is the most important part of my life, bar none. They are the people for whom, and thanks to whom, I've been living up to this day, and for whom I intend to keep living from now on. They showed me love, support and optimism, and I owe them my smarts, my creativity, my love of writing, my humor and my current understanding of life in general. I love them very much and they love me right back, unconditionally, which is a rare gift that I treasure greatly. 2) My RL friends, with whom I spend a pretty good deal of time. Them're like my secondary family, helping and supporting me in different ways, which are really appreciated. Also great RPers, all of 'em, lol. 3) This amazingly rich world and everything in the 'natural' part of it (except Snow and spiders. I dislike snow and spiders... a lot, lol). I love the scent of trees in a forest, the touch of sand on a beach, the wind in my hair. I really like how no matter how many years I could spend explorring the world, I would still not have seen all there is to see in it. 4) Modern day science and medicine, without which a lot of my optimistic view of life would be greatly diminished. lol. 5) Imagination, creativity, fantasy, and all that goes with it, including books, RPGs and video games among others. I breathe, drink, and eat that stuff. All the time. And I love it. 6) This very board, and all the wonderful people on it. You guys are the best, and as I said countless times, you totally helped me through what was basically the worst years of my RL life, and now accompany me through some of the best. I can't thank you all enough for that, and as such, special spot on this list for all of y'all. XD And that's that!

This is my 2013 list to be 2013 specific. I'm always thankful for my wife and kids...and this board...but thought it would be fun to focus only on specific 2013 things to be thankful for. 1. Straight Teeth! - After over a year with invisalign, no longer need to schedule follow-up appointments with my orthodontist because my teeth are officially straight! 2. The Donor! - I've got periodontal disease, but an oral surgeon grafted some dead person's donated gum tissue to the worst quadrant of my mouth fixing me up there so my teeth don't fall out. Thank you unknown dead person for donating your gum tissue! 3. I'm an Uncle! - For seven years my kids have been the only grandchildren to both my parents and my wife's parents...until this year! My sister-in-law and her husband had a beautiful baby girl that I got to spend some time with yesterday at Thanksgiving. Finally, a child I can spoil and then give back to their own parents! 4. Mission IFS ECOM Operations Advocate Successful! - This is a work thing. A couple years ago I joined a new team at work with this crazy idea that we'd have a team of what we call Operation Advocates who would be added to all eCommerce infrastructure projects to help coordinate production deployment and smooth turnover to our support teams. Well after wise hiring, training and implementation, the OA is now a highly valued and in-demand roll for all our team's projects. So it isn't such a crazy idea any more. Mission accomplished! 5. Secret Wars! - When I started the Daily Bugle in January 2007, it was with the purpose of recruiting enough players to one day role-play the Secret Wars online. This year, that dream finally became a reality. Many thanks to the game's eight players. (And I'm still recruiting if anyone is interested in joining.)

What I'm thankful for:
1) Family and Friends, both the ones who I got to hang out with on Thanksgiving, and the ones I didn't, and that definitely includes a lot of you wonderful awesome people on the boards! You all know who you are! 2) My significant other, who has helped me start on the path to being the best version of myself possible. 3) Tying into that, the opportunities I have had lately for personal growth, healing, self-improvement, &tc. 4) The novel I've been working on not sucking!
In short good art, good people, good thoughts.

@ Manah and dorknight. The people on this board are awesome, and have been awesome even when I was not so awesome. Sure it only takes a couple of minutes to post something about someones personal crap, but it happens, and it helps the person in need.
@ Andyman Grafted Teeth From a Dead Person! That is pretty cool. My older brother had cancer and his mouth, face, and teeth were ruined, but I when I heard that I have some kind of hope that my own kin can be restored. It may or may not happen, but It's pretty inspiring. @ Dorknight It's cool you've found your significant other. Myself I've found my significan't others in the plural form. When I say that I mean if I had fallowed my true calling then or so years back I would have met her a long time ago as opposed to 2011, and probably had at least three F Juniors, but not F-Juniors because I wouldn't be the same person. She only has one kid now, and is single, but she is perfect for who I was, not who I am, or what I am becoming
At the same not, I also strongly care about a girl, and believe for the first time in several years that I'm truely in love. It's complicated, but everything worth having is worth waiting, and working for. Complication only makes things interesting for me, but I'm not perfect. I like a good solid challenge.
