I only ask because I wish to play the Avatar in an MURPG game one day, and in order to build a proper CAD, I would like to know if I can count on the assistance of anyone with a deep knowledge of the games. (Let's face it... a wiki can only tell you so much.)

Well... I pressed start on the Title screen and played for five minutes (not that it wasn't good, it wasn't mine and I was playing other games at the time). I think I'll leave this one to more experienced folks.

What experienced folks?
If the lack of responses is any indication... I'm the only one with even the most remote interest.

...Or... since it's only been less than a day, someone might have the knowledge you seek but has not yet showed up to answer. Or maybe they know a thing or two about it like I do, but not enough to help you with more than the wiki could. I dunno.
Then again... Ultima is a fairly old series of game, correct? Maybe the board's community doesn't know too much about it. My knowledge about it is limited to what some people have told me about it, and it sounded pretty cool. I just never had the chance to try it.

Well you can find most of the games for download on a site called goodoldgames for a small price.
... But I'm not 100% sure how safe that option would be for me to undertake.

Not sure for me either, but it's no big deal. I know someone who has the roms. Thanks for the tip, though. ^_^
