Okay I have a question about making custom gear that combines with actions for free like a modifier.
I.E Ashley's Book of Shadows gives her +5 free stones when ever she uses a dark magic effect.
So does that mean her book would be +3 like a modifier or is it more?
Like this is what I have so far:
- +5 to magic effects when using Dark Arts (3) - Conjurable (1ws) - Book of Shadows protects itself from those who are not Ashley (2)
so total is 16 ws. Is this right or am I making it wrong?

Adds +5 to dark arts: This depends on how much dark arts costs. If DA costs AN+2, the book would cost MN+5. Conjurable would be 1w, just like collapsible/portable for powered armor. I'm not sure on the protection. An indestructable item costs 1w extra, and exclusivity would also cost 1w, as for powered armor.
Unless the book of shadows magically opens to the right page, you could add "takes extra time to prepare" for -1 to level.

Dark Arts is your normal AN+2 like most other magic actions. But why would it be +5? is it because of the bonus it gives?

Dark Arts +2, +3 for modifier = +5.

what about if an item gives bonus to a theme set of abilities like i.e item gives +x to magical actions or psionic, etc.?
