I can't get my head around the changes to the admin system. I was trying to create this board for Genetic Aberrant: However, I couldn't work out how to move my newly created board to the bottom of the list of Online Roleplay Games. I couldn't move it from the top without turning it into a sub-board for another game. So, in the end I deleted it in frustration. However, I must have accidentally pressed the wrong button and deleted the previous General Online RP Discussion board instead. Um, yeah. Sorry to all the people who lost some of their posts when I did that! It was an accident! I'm sorry!!!

I managed to save this CAD (belonging to Kira) from a tab I had open before I accidentally deleted the old Online RP Discussion board. I don't know if that helps at all.

Whoa, hope that the board can be recovered, pinging takewithfood to see if there is a fixing for such a thing.

Oh, wow. Okay, I'll see what I can do. I'll try to contact ProBoards to see if they have a recent backup of the boards for us, but chances are very slim. Even then, I think there's a fee associated (like $20, which is no problem) but I don't know if I can pay it since I'm not actually the board owner; technically I'm just a moderator with a lot of privileges.
I have also encountered that problem with trying to drag a board down to the very bottom of the list. The only way I've found to do it is to make it the second last board, then move the last board above it.
Like, if the boards are like this:
Board A Board B Board C
And you want to add "Board D", you put it between B and C temporarily:
Board A Board B Board D Board C
Then you move C up between B and D.
It's really easy to make mistakes when reorganizing boards. They put "delete board" right next to a lot of other useful options, and on a mobile device especially it's insanely easy to misclick (which is why I won't moderate on a mobile device; full keyboard and mouse only). The confirmation message that pops up also puts the "Yes" and "no" buttons right next to each other, which freaks me out.
In general, if you're having trouble or you're feeling confused, just back away and get some help. It's fine if a board is out of place or something, nobody really minds.
On the upside, at least it wasn't a game. ^__^ We've had that happen before, too, though! Anyway, I'll see what I can do, but it's probably not going to make a difference. C'est la vie.

Alright, here's an update:
1. I've posted a message at ProBoards' support forums asking for help rolling back the boards. I'm not clear if they're currently offering this service, but it's worth a shot.
2. I've put the boards in "maintenance mode" to prevent players from making posts that may just get rolled back anyway. If you're reading this, it's because you're an admin/moderator of some kind. Regular members will only see a short message about how we're undergoing maintenance.
With luck, they'll be able to roll us back and we won't lose many/any posts. It's worth a try, I figure.

I've started to back up as many posts as I can over the last 24 hours. So far I'm up to 8 hours. I'm just copy/pasting the BBCode into a document; if we get rolled back I'll just send the data to people via PMs so they can repost their stuff.

Well, I'm afraid that ProBoards is unable to roll back our forum, so the changes are permanent. We'll just have to start fresh!
I've taken the boards off of Maintenance Mode, so posting can resume. Sorry I wasn't able to do more.

What sticky's should we have here? A general welcome/explanation one, a players seeking game one, a game seeking players one and a wishlist one? Anything else?
I should have quite some free time tomorrow (More or less 14 hours from now) and a little bit in the next few hours too, so if I can help with anything just poke me.

I'm not going to lie, I've been terrified of accidentally deleting stuff. It's lame it's happened, but, at least we didn't lose any games or write-ups.
Anybody recruiting a game, remember to repost your ad!

Ouch... that's actually quite a lot of data there... Damn.
Thanks for trying to fix it. Guess we'll just have to live with it.
Gris: Sounds about right to me.

Yeah, I find it really scary doing anything with the boards like that. These things have happened before, and they'll happen again. I'll say again, the moderator layout in the new version 5 is pretty awkward, and deleting things by accident is unnecessarily easy.
As for moving forward, I suppose we can replace the old Wish List, Bring out your Dead, Games looking for Players, and Players looking for games threads as stickies.

Yeah, don't fix what's broken, as they say. Give 'em back, boss.

A thread with he Rules/Guidelines and PoC's for Game Creation. The Wishlist thread was always a fun-read.

Wow, ya. That sucks but mistakes happen. The new admin system is scary to use I have been really nervous when I have to use it.
I am glad no games were lost or what not.
