Okay, I have created a 2013 folder and shoved every previously hidden game in there (and un-hid them). Now, what you see on the front page is what you get. There are no more hidden games, only archived ones. ~TWF

Funny how we kind of refer to the Owners as somewhat mythical beings being on some kind of other 'level', and us not quite understanding how 'things work at that level', and fearing their intervention... kinda like the Users in Reboot. Right? Okay, okay... not helping. Going away now. XD

Well I can only speak from personal experience here. I left my old 'Gotham By Night' board alone for rather too long in a time when we were not looking after the weeding ourselves only to have it deleted. No are you still using this, just it's not been used in over a month so gone. This is why I do the weeding myself now and ask people what they want done. It saves people losing stuff.

When did that happen and who did it, do you know? I haven't heard of the admins doing anything around here in years.
Anyway, we'll still be tidying things up. I just don't see how suddenly deleting people's games saves us from having game suddenly deleted. It just feels like we're doing it to ourselves at that point. We're keeping a mess off the front page, no more confusing hidden games, and we can still whittle away at the archive over time. I think it will work. ^__^

It was November 2007 and it was i3ullseye that did the deleting and honestly I'd say that it's a matter of it's better us doing the job because we have the time to give people time to respond and tell us what they want done rather than just having the board owners who don't so do clear up their way. Anyway the way I have operated in the past is: - See a thread over a month old. Post asking the use/hide/delete message (or now use/archive/delete as it is now). - Wait a month and again review everything over a month old. - If someone gets back to me great they get what they want. If not it means that neither the players nor the GM have either used or looked at the board in over a month or just don't care enough about the board to want to save it. I'd say if that is the case really the board needs deleting. Of course if the consensus is that if it's there we save it I'm happy to go with that too but I really do feel that people should be stepping up to keep the board tidy even if it's just answering a simple question. Oh and the reason I replied now is that there are a load of boards that need either moving or deleting so rather than just go with my gut I thought I'd ask.

I'm keeping my 63n3515 and Saints Row threads. Just gotta find a way to get the juices flowing again...

Fine by me but if you want to keep them on the main board you need to post in them at least once a month, even if it's just a message saying "this is a place holder, behold it's placeholdery goodness."
It will mean I know to ignore them and thus stop them getting archived or deleted. Fair deal?

Ok, so as I'm working on an iPad I can't move stuff around (just doesn't work) so stuff that needs moving to the archive I'm gonna hide and let other more versatile admin deal. I'll post up a second warning on the dead threads warning people that the thread is about to be deleted before deleting it. Sound ok?
Oh and could someone please archive and unhide the Saints Row thread, also the Earth Institute of Heroes thread?

I have moved 21 games to The Archive in the 2015 section. I will eventually come by again at a later date to see if any of these games warrant deletion, so now's the time to save any material that you may want in there! That goes for 2013 and 2014, too! ~TWF

I started a 2016 Archive folder. Anyone know about any games that might need archiving? PM me and I'll move them! I'll do a look myself later.

I'll do a round of checks myself in a bit see what we can delete/ archive. Didn't follow up the last round yet so if you see my name on a thread it's a good clue it might need checking... But you knew that already

On the topic of old archived threads, I'm thinking about looking through the archives for 2013 and 2014 and asking around for if people still want to keep 'em. Any thoughts?

Coming out of lurking for my general two-cents: If feasible, I'd appreciate leaving archived threads there, if only for posterity's sake. If that's not doable, I'll try and comb through the ones I posted in to see if I can't flag a few?
