TEMPEST WITHOUT, CRISIS WITHIN!

The formation of a planet from pieces of other worlds will create problems. One problem is the sudden mixing of atmospheres, the raising of new mountains, and a sudden increase in volcanic activity. As the Battleplanet settles, these rival forces of nature create a huge storm that buffets the planet mercilessly.

Rhodey was awoken by the raging storm outside their new alien headquarters, and quickly began to wonder just how severe this situation might be. They had no way of knowing what this structure could or could not withstand, nor how potent the tempest might become. Perhaps the villains were not the biggest threat on this strange planet after all, but instead they would all find themselves victims of a natural disaster?

Deciding to check on the situation with any of the other heroes he could find, Rhodey started to put on his trusty Iron Man suit. Once he was fully geared-up, he would fly out into the halls until his radar picked up the biggest congregation of people that he could find. At which point he would see if any of them had a better idea of how the base was holding up against the storm, or if there were any clues on how long it might last for.

The Human Torch

"Nothing like a good nights sleep..." moaned Johnny Storm. "...and that was a lousy nights sleep. Thanks Ben!"

Running a hand through his hair Storm looked for somewhere to shower and change. Once done he wandered through the corridors to go find somewhere to go rustle up some breakfast.

Depending on who was about he would offer to do whatever was needed - scouting, guard duty... except that storm outside looked as wild as anything he'd ever seen on Earth. He was a capable, experienced superhero, but there were limits even to his abilities. He doubted his flame would last long in that!

Spider-Man scratched his head, stretched, and yawned. He was ready to go, but apprehensive about what was going to happen today. He was still very unsettled about all of this. Not only was he out of his element with an alien attempting to force him and his allies to fight to the death, he had to protect his identity, even from his own allies... and he knew all too well that his costume wouldn't hold up forever in a fight, much less multiple fights. Sooner or later, he was going to have to find a solution. Right now, he had a more immediate concern; breakfast. He made his way to find some food and, when he found Johnny, smiled beneath his mask.

How we doin' Matchstick? It was then that he noticed the tectonic disturbances for the first time. What'd you do Torch? I swear I can't leave you alone for five minutes...

The Human Torch

"Hey webs! What you... what? This ain't me man. Maybe one of your crackpot nutjob bad guys pressed a wrong button sometime. Maybe the guys who's super power is a bad hairjob, halitosis and metal wiggly arms. Or the other nutjob in the goblin mask... Common denominator - nutjobs. Drawn to you like flies to..."

CRACK-A-BOOM!

Torch glances outside. "Man. Wild out there."

"So, my somewhat less amusing and charismatic friend" he says, looping an arm around Spideys shoulder. "What do we do today? I'm thinkin' a needle n thread man, cause your threads are like... bare. You should ask Reed to cook you up one of our suits. No rips, no tears no dirt no muss no fuss." He slaps Spidey on the back. "Though I gotta admit buddy, with you around me it only serves to make me look better. Now if only there were a few hotties around..."

He walks towards the door, snickering. "Coming?"

On Spidermans' back is a handwritten paper sign saying "kick me"

Torch chuckles. Years of practice on Ben made him an expert.

Day 2, Morning

The first congregation of heroes that Iron Man finds is the Human Torch and Spider-Man.

Then Rhodey's sensors detect a much larger congregation just outside Herobase!

Stumbling across the friendly banter between Spider-Man and the Human Torch, Iron Man was quite pleased to see that his fellow heroes were still in good spirits, despite being whisked away to an alien world to fight in a secret war against their deadliest foes. Unfortunately, the readings his sensors were picking up from outside the Herobase might soon spell an end to their fun.

"Looks like we've got company coming," Rhodey informed the other two, as he used his radar to guide him to the large group gathering outside the Herobase, "The villains might be trying to use this storm as cover for another attack..."

Wow, ever since I came to this alien world where we're supposed to fight to the death, it seems like someone is always trying to kill me... Oblivious to the sign, Spidey headed out to the battlefield.

"We need to get everyone in on this! Spidey! Don't do anything stupid... at least not without me!"

"FLAME ON!" he shouted, taking to the air and soaring high in the corridors to shout out "HEADS UP EVERYONE! WE GOT COMPANY! GET YOUR FANCY TIGHTS ON AND GET OUT HERE, FRONT AND CENTRE!"

At the room he shared with Ben, he landed and called out "Hey bricks, move that orange bulk - I think they came back!"

Torch will make his way back to where Spiderman and Iron Man are waiting, and tell them he roused the others. When enough have gathered, he will join in the reception committee for the group outside!

Wolverine had been avoiding any interactions and had been using his senses to map out the fort and get a general idea of its interior infrastructure. He walked through a corridor and even though there was a raging storm outside, it seemed as though things were peaceful inside. But being an X Man and Avenger, he knew how quickly situations seemed to escalate in times of calm. He closed his eyes, remained still and took a sniff of the air checking for any unknown scents.

This story takes place in the 1980s Marvel Universe. Wolverine has not been an Avenger yet. That doesn't happen until much later.

Wolverine was in RlfAbWC_1-100 a Repair Center when 1-100 he noticed an alien scent. Following his nose lead him to Spider-Man and Iron Man who are staring at a group of 10-100 alien refugees, humanoid in nature, outside the hero's base.

When the Human Torch arrives, he is immediately attracted to the woman in the picture above!

Iron Man was surprised to see the strange group of aliens on their doorstep. Nobody had imagined that anyone other than the heroes and their villainous enemies had been caught up in the Beyonder's secret war, let alone refugees like these. Whoever these people were and wherever they were from, it was obvious to Rhodey that they must need shelter from the raging storm.

"We can't leave them out there," he said to Spider-Man, as well as Wolverine and Human Torch when he noticed the two of them making their way back to the scene, "C'mon, let's get them inside. Maybe Richards or somebody can figure out a way to communicate with them, because I can't make heads or tails of whatever language that lady's speaking..."

Having made sure the prisoners were secure, the Hulk wanders about the complex looking to strike up a conversation with either Reed Richards or Captain America.
