"Already on it, Professor!" replies the blue fuzzy elf, who teleports away with a BAMF!

OOC: Iron Man earns a +5 Karma bonus for handling the X-Men tactfully.

Hulk and Spider-Man begin to reason out the electrical problem when Captain America orders them to go outside and patrol with She-Hulk. To add insult to insult, Captain America takes with him Johnny Storm (of all people) to solve a technical problem.

It's very wet outside and She-Hulk gets soaked as soon as she steps outside. The only one she sees outside in the storm is Thor, unless Hulk and/or Spider-Man follow orders and join her.

Captain America and the Human Torch search around for the Generator, but find Vehicle Dock V first. Captain America's acute hearing detects that a group approaches from down the darkened corridor!

Iron Man knew his chances of actually talking the X-Men out of any decisions they had made were probably slim at best, so now that he had said his piece, he did not try to press the issue any more than he already had. He simply went with them to the vehicle dock, hoping that along the way one of them might see sense and decide that teaming up with Magneto probably was not the best idea in the world.

She hulk stepped outside, immediately soaked to the bone. "Ugg, I guess I should have borrowed an umbrella. Or maybe asked Storm if she could go about stopping this rain." In the distance she saw Thor flying through the stormclouds. "Hello up there! Any sign of anything or anyone?"

"More vehicles. Bet Ben could figure out how to work 'em. This place is huge. I could fly round for hours and not cover the same ground. What say we get back to the others and make sure they aren't beating the stuffing out of each other. Heck, I'm willing to bet Benjy and the Hulk are already... Cap?"

"Nay, but tis like all the hurricanes on Midgard for a thousand cycles joined thusly into one!" Thor tells She-Hulk. Hulk and Spider-Man notice that the power to Herobase is still shut off.

Inside, the X-Men and Iron Man meet Captain America and the Human Torch in the dark vehicle doc. If not for the light of Iron Man's chest lamp and the Human Torch's flame, the heroes would be in total darkness.

"Cap, Torch," Iron Man greeted his fellow heroes after finding them in the dark vehicle doc, "What's going on here? Is this blackout because of the storm outside, or are the villains up to something?"

He did not mention the X-Men's decision to abandon the heroes in order to join Magneto, silently hoping that whatever crisis they were all currently facing would somehow convince the mutants that they were needed here after all.

The Human Torch

Turns to Iron Man. "Hey shellhead. No idea. The lights just went out. We need to find out what's going on and do it fast! If we're under attack and separated..." He didn't finish the sentence, but they were up against the meanest, most powerful bad guys Earth had to offer. Some of them on their own were a major threat. They'd been beaten off once before and were smarting, but with this storm going on, it was the best time to strike!

"Problem is this place is so big. I suggest we get back to the command centre and divide the group up into teams then split up, see what we can find, whilst staying in touch with whatever tech Reed can cook up."

She hulk rolled her eyes at the Asgardian. "Well, whatever doesn't' kill us makes us stronger right?" Though she realized that He may be unfamiliar with the turn of phrase. She thought to herself. Now would be a great time for a full search party, we really need to anticipate any attacks..

"Well said Lady Hulk," says the immortal Thunder God. "But you, your cousin and even the Spider are not lacking in your own strengths. Why not go inside and leave the unbridled fury of the elements to me?"

Professor Xavier is surprised that Iron Man did not reveal what the mutants had planned. Perhaps this Iron Man understands more about discrimination and prejudice than Xavier had thought. "Good suggestion, Mr. Storm, however if all open their minds to me, there is no need for us to physically gather to plan our strategy. Is this agreeable with you Captain?"

"Well, I'm not exactly enthusiastic about someone going into my head, but I have no secrets to hide. Anything you need to know about me you can find out by reading the society mags and various newspapers, I expect." said Johnny, laughing nervously.

"Plus, the X Men ARE good guys, right? Despite what those various newspapers say."

Although Iron Man may have shared some of the Human Torch's reservations about letting someone they barely knew go rooting through their brains, he was also quite pleased to hear Professor X volunteering to use his powers to help during this crisis. Maybe it was too much to hope the X-Men would entirely reconsider their plans to abandon the other heroes, but at least they were pitching-in when they were needed right now.

"Go ahead, Professor," Rhodey gave his consent, unless Captain America had any strong objections, "We all trust you."

Going in my head? But that's where I keep all of my best stuff! In truth, Spider-Man was very concerned about this; his secret identity was precious to him; he'd already learned how dangerous it could be to those around him if his secret got out... but none of that would matter if he never made it home. I guess, but lets do it quickly.

"No way Sparky. I'm not letting you stay out here and have all the fun without me. You and me are the first line of defense right now, and there are a lot of innocent people inside." She wondered for a second if everyone inside was okay without power.

Hawkeye is in the vRjX7Cc91d100 Auto-Kitchen with some of the alien refugees, when he is mentally contacted by Professor Xavier. The Professor is with his X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America and the Human Torch. She-Hulk, Hulk and Spider-Man are also contacted from their post outside with Thor.

A decision is made to send a small band of heroes eastward to prevent any raiding party of villains from reaching Herobase undetected and unchallenged. Volunteers are needed.

OOC: To confirm that you are still interested in playing, please post your character's reaction to this plan and hopefully how they volunteer for action. I'll then skip ahead to the away mission. If I don't hear from Hulk or Captain America, it may be our new Hawkeye player that will be the leader of a five hero scouting team.
