It continues to rain all throughout Iron Man and Hawkeye's watch. Three hours have past and Human Torch, Spider-Man and Professor X are fast asleep.

Will either hero wake another to complete the watch until morning?

Iron Man remained on watch, feeling it would be better to let the others rest while they had the chance, rather than disturb them now. Who knows when any of them would have a moment to catch some sleep again?

Hawkeye Looks at Tony. "Hey Tin man why don't you wake Matches and the bug so we can get some shut eye. Beside's Bug's great alarm system and matches a a human night light we can get decent shut eye. On top of it we need you and professor's brain for god knows what else could happen" He said being a smart Alice as usual.

"I'm good," Rhodey replied, used to all-night duty from his military background, "But if you want to get your beauty sleep, go ahead and wake up the web-head if you want. I can't say I'm looking forward to hearing his non-stop mouth all night, though. There's only so many corny jokes a man can take."

Human Torch

Johnnys dreams are troubled. He thinks of friends at home, women he knows, people who are eager for the ear of the Human Torch. The problem is, he can't remember their faces, or many of their names. How long before they in turn forget him?

With a shudder Johnny wakes, hears Hawkeye and Iron Man speaking quietly, but can't make out details. With an uneasy mind he tries to get back to sleep.

Day 3, Morning

Note 1: Hawkeye loses 10 Karma each morning, because he misses his newly-wed wife, Mockingbird.

Note 2: All characters earn 30 Karma for roleplaying in character during Day 2!

Dawn comes up like thunder, revealing the plans of the enemy. A small blip on the horizon quickly swells to become an enemy vehicle, heading toward the hero's HQ!

"FLAME ON!" shouts Johnny as as he points to the approaching blip. "Yo, Spidey! WEBS ON!" he laughs. "No, that ain't workin'. Just... do what you do. Iron Man! You're the nearest we got to a heavy hitter, remember to take on the big guys! Professor... I... uh... do what you do. Hawkeye, I guess you n me are distance support. Spidey, do your thang."

The Human Torch flies up into the sky, thinking for a moment then forming a giant 4 out of fire to alert Ben and Reed that they are in trouble!

One half of the night he was asleep the other thinking of Mokingbird. Though mean-less to say that now that there was some action going down He can focus on her much later. He makes sure all his arrows are in his quiver and hops down from the rock. Considering the vehicle was on the move it was not a impossible shot. but the closer and more elevated he was to it the better his shots wont miss. "Okay People rise and shine! We got bad guys coming our way!" He said before lightly jogging to a strategical point to be both cover fire and offensive shot just in case things go from bad to worse.

Iron Man made sure the other heroes were roused from their sleep, knowing they would all need to be at their best to deal with this villainous ambush. In particular, he focused on Professor X.

"Rise and shine, Professor. We've got a situation. Do you think you can use your powers to send a warning to the rest of the heroes back at the base?  That way, they'll be able to send out some reinforcements while the rest of us try to slow down these bad guys!"

He hoped the Professor was up to it, but even if it was down to just their small group for the time being, Iron Man was prepared to try and turn the villain's early morning assault around on them. He flew out of the shelter where they had spent their night, gliding ahead of the others, then fired his Unibeam chest lamp directly into whatever passed for the windscreen or viewport of the approaching enemy vehicle. Rhodey wanted the blinding light to disorient whoever was driving the vehicle, perhaps causing them to veer out of control and leave it's passengers dazed and disoriented so the heroes would have an early advantage.

(I don't know if I need to roll anything to shoot Iron Man's Unibeam?)

The rising sun, the Human Torch's fiery 4 and Iron Man's Unibeam all shine light on a single metallic body that is ejected from the enemy's craft while it continues toward Herobase. Hawkeye's sharp eyesight makes him the first to recognize what it is.

The villains have left behind Ultron to deal with this small advance team of heroes!

"Ok that's not one of ours... and it isn't goofy enough to be one of webheads... so it has to be... an Avengers bad guy? No matter! FLAME ON! Let's see how shiny that things stays after I turn up the heat!"

OOC Human Torch probably doesn't know much about Ultron so he will keep his distance in the air and fire (Unearthly damage) at the robot.

Iron Man opened fire with his repulsor rays, doubtful that even his strongest blasts would be able to put a dent in the robot's adamantium armor, but hopeful the sheer force might knock it out of the sky even if it was not damaged. They only needed to get Ultron off their backs, that way they could pursue the villainous craft before it reached the Herobase!

Realizing he has not chance of fighting ultron ProfessorX lends his support by opening channels of communication between the team. (a type of communication Ultron cannot monitor)

Ultron's metal body drops to the ground, sending up a cloud of smoke that causes Iron Man's blast to miss it's mark. Human Torch and the other heroes now feel Professor X's telepathic touch in their minds.

The shuttle flies on, leaving the grounded Ultron to seek out and destroy these heroes.
