I hadn't seen the egg one before, but that's actually a really neat idea. I've seen people cook eggs inside vegetables (usually peppers), but never for sandwich purposes.

You can tell I've been bored, but you can also do the same thing by boiling the egg in a used soda can or well shaped tin foil.

Yeah, I sometimes use peppers to make eggs like that. Don't know why I never thought to use an onion!
I do the same thing with pomegranates, though I only cut around the outside and try to rip the thing open, so you don't slice through a bunch of the little seed guys. Otherwise you get juice everywhere. Sometimes it can be useful to do this over a bowl of water, because the seeds sink and the little white bits that you don't want float, so they're super easy to separate. So good in salads, and my dad makes an insane lemon poppyseed cake with pomegranate on top, you have no idea.
