There are many universes, parallel timelines, alternate realities, and other existences, and many times they seem to hang on the tip of a needle, for want of a shoe a horse is lost, a catastrophic escalation leading in entire universes perishing in flame and paradox. This is a story of heroes who tip the balance, heroes unhinged in time without a native reality to call their own, Exiles. Five strangers from five different parallel worlds, each unhinged in time, chosen to be the unsung heroes of the Multiverse. Traveling from timeline to timeline, hoping each world they save will lead to their own salvation.
Forget the Panoptichron, forget the Timebroker, even forget the Tallus, besides the name and general premise I'm going to be avoiding the original Exiles story, both because we all know how it turns out, and in order to let me move the story in a bit of a different direction. I'll be revealing more of this as the game goes on, obviously...
Also, as a way to spice this up even more, this is a broader multiverse game. While I'd like the majority of the team to be made out of Marvel characters, I'd be willing to entertain one or perhaps two characters from other fictional properties, the easier you can justify that character's universe being tangentially linked to the Marvel universes the better. Your character can be from a pre-existing alternate universe (like the Age of Apocalypse or whatever) or from an entirely different one altogether, up to you. The one important thing is it needs to be an alternate reality version, one different from the baseline in major and important ways.
Character Creation
I want a mix of power levels here, from the street level an maybe even some more seasoned characters. Pitch me your concept, and I'll give you a stone limit to build for.
For those worried about being able to shine next to more powerful characters, I'm hoping to mix up the combat with a lot of roleplaying, exploration, and non-combat challenges in addition to action scenes. (Also, realistically, the range is probably going to be between 30-60 stones. I don't plan on giving somebody more than 60 stones unless it's a really awesome concept that I really can't see being done less efficiently.) I'm also going to play around with a variant XP system, hopefully encouraging weaker characters to grow faster than stronger ones through a combination of discounted improvements and perhaps even in-game 'upgrades' that will eventually give everyone chances to shine.
I'm looking for five players, three or four alternate reality Marvel characters, and one or two possible outliers (depending what people want to pitch me). PM me for stone limits, or any other questions or comments.
