Hahah. I was going to say... I was looking at it. And Assets/Complications are my favorite thing, and that just looks abusive.

Or perhaps a toned down Strange.

Hahah. I was going to say... I was looking at it. And Assets/Complications are my favorite thing, and that just looks abusive. It is, but it depends on how much you abuse the system and how much your GM LETS YOU abuse the system. I've got basically two groups that I play with "live"; my old group from HS and my newer group (even though one or two of my old HS group is usually in the newer group as well). When it's just my old HS group, I almost never worry about balance issues unless the unbalance is built into the system (i.e. I beefed up rogues in Pathfinder because they just sucked compared to everything else) rather than based on potential player abuse. When we started running through Civil War it was just those guys, and nobody did anything stupid. The other group is a constant struggle. To be fair, two of them are really good players who just want to have a good time, but two of the others are my problem children who just can't enjoy themselves unless they've rung every possible drop of power out of their character. It was when we invited those guys to play Civil War with us that we started having problems. These guys wanted to use every dice they could possibly get for everything all of the time, and were really bothered by the fact that I hadn't been using Strange's "Mystic Senses" to "target" my magical spells, and suddenly I wasn't rolling 1d12 virtually every round, but 2d12, and with "Area Affect" on board, Strange was cleaning house most of the time. These are the same guys who pretty quickly started making excuses as to why they could add "Flight" die to every attack and defense roll they made, etc, so the game really kind of fell apart at that point. Basically, in my experience, Marvel Heroic is only fun as long as everyone involved is more interested in having fun than in breaking/abusing the system. *shrugs*

Well lets just roll with who wants to go as who. And why not just see what people want. With already pregend charactrs at least we do not have to take time to create new ones.

Gris and DK, have you decided who to play as yet? I'm leaning toward some version of Hank Pym (probably as Ant Man but with both growth and shrinking.)

Or just plain Hank Pym.

Hank Pym can be fun if you know how to balance out his shrinking, with his growth. But those sizes can also be a complication if not careful

Should we get the board up or wait for Gris to decide who wants to play as.

Gris is not on yet, is he? I would say give a few minutes or so.

So this became the official recruitment thread then... and You're going with the first four? Just want to know if I should stop following this thread or not.

Yeah it became the official recruitment thread. And I wanted at least 4 players, 5 is good. Plus, you are part of the first 4 anyway.

I'm thinking Ms. Marvel (Or any other name Carol Danvers has used) but she can be hard to introduce, with all the alien origin, at the beginning of the Avengers.
