Secret societies have been part of human culture for all of recorded history. Some benign, some malign, their beliefs range from the comical to the disturbing, their influence from negligible to extreme. Many would write them off as "kooks" and weak-willed followers seeking answers for the questions that haunt their nightmares. Others are fascinated by them, seeking every detail of their obscure beliefs. Still others wonder if there might not be something to what they believe...

So I'm thinking of taking another run at an occult/conspiracy horror type game based around normal human beings finding themselves in over their heads. I'm thinking that I would like to either have the group simply start out as strangers in a single geographic area (likely Detroit, as I'm familiar enough with it to run it believably) or as part of a single, loose group or organization if the players can agree on something. I would be open to something as simple as "we're all students or professors at the same University" to something as specific as "we are all members of the same Alcoholics Anonymous group."
Fair warning, this game will definitely have some adult themes

I do love those kind of games. I have no personal preference on how to begin, I think I could be able to come up with something in almost any kind of group/organization.

This sounds fun. The idea reminds me of the pinebox setting.
