So it's been popular to change up the "setting" of super hero stories for quite some time now and this one seems like a natural choice, so I'm sure it's been done before, but I'd like to try my hand at running this. This is the story of Bruce Wayne, the Batman... if he had begun his career contemporaneously with Prohibition in the United States. As you might guess, this game would revolve around gangsters and other "roaring 20's" tropes.
Aside from Bruce Wayne/Batman, I'm looking for players interested in playing other heroes of the "Gothamite" persuasion. Off the top of my head, James Gordon (starting off as new-to-town officer from Chicago, not yet "Commissioner" Gordon), any of the various "Robins" (most likely as teenagers without a formal connection to The Batman, at least initially, but they may have already embarked on their heroic careers), Azrael (Valley or Lane), Catwoman (as a kind of anti-hero). I'm sure you guys can think of more. I will not be accepting any "super powered" characters, though I may expand the setting in that direction in the future, nor will I be allowing outright villains as PCs for this game.
Any interest?

Okay, just a few ideas, in order of preference:
1) I'd love to take Batman if nobody has claimed it yet. I've had the pleasure once before so I'm willing to sit back if necessary. 2) The Riddler. I'd be riffing more on the brief period they had Nygma acting as a flamboyant detective. I'd want to be sort of a cynical ex-con-man. 3) Ragman. This sort of goes against the "no powered heroes" prohibition, but I'd be happy to play him as sort of like Moon Knight in that his mystical powers might be more implied than anything, or just powers he believes he has as a matter of faith.

I tossed a few ideas via PM. I pitched a Bat, a Jason Todd, and a Grayson (No surprises there, eh)... and a less fleshed out Robin/Arrow/Arsenal hybrid.
I think DK would make for a fantastic Batman and would gladly drop mine in favor of him taking the spotlight. I've always liked the Robin/Nightwing archetypes better. ;-)

My Jason Todd could SOOOOO easily be altered to have been rescued/showed-the-better-path by a Batman. I tied him into a street rat taken in by The Court of Owls... grooming him into a Talon, but his morality proved too strong. A simple twist could have The Bat be responsible, and we could start out a duo.
If WK bought off on something like that anyhow.

Just submitted a Batman CAD to WK. I'm thinking very old school Begins style, with some swashbuckling flair in the vein of Doulas Fairbanks or Errol Flynn (the classic dashing Hollywood leading man archetype,) but also playing him as very grim and stiff and sort of socially awkward.

Did you just go with 40+10?
Wouldn't want my Robin's to outshine The Bat...

I ended up using some Alex Ross art for it. The Gaslight Batman look is cool but a little too steampunky for my tastes. EDIT: Did you just go with 40+10? Wouldn't want my Robin's to outshine The Bat... Yeah, I did it in 40+10, and it was barely everything I felt fit what I needed (I wanted to give him Ninja 4, but I realized it was unfeasible, so there's a whole crapton of 3's for Batman.)
