Uh, does anyone have any idea why I'm getting this...and how it can be stopped? These CAPTCHAs don't work half of the time, and they're driving me bonkers!

After a search, it seems to be a proboards error. They seem to have you flagged as a bot for whatever reason (it could be the account or the IP), and that's why they prompt you with captchas. No idea how to stop it, though, maybe contacting proboards could help.

There's a good one going around that's sole purpose is the create a captchya database- mining actual inputted answers to use. So, it triggers a wevsite's challenge, then records the image and your response, but re-directs you before entry so that you're challenged again. Pretty cool stuff!

That's clever (and evil) Anyways, Savant, try to download Malwarebytes to give the computer a sweep, most of the time that tends to do the trick.

I personally use Spybot. It does a great job too. ^_^

What if I happen to use a Chromebook with, well, Google Chrome?

I haven't heard about malware designed for Chrome OS, I have no idea then.
