Still behind on comics, but what do you think of the Civil War II event? I personally don't like what happened to two certain characters just to get the event started. What happened to the second character is especially painful because it is clearly forced. They should have taken a huge hit from Thanos, not a single missle from War Machine to put them in such a state.
As for the true main conflict, Usyless doesn't seem special in the future predicting department. He isn't the first after all (But it occurred to me that I can't think of too many characters with that power who are still active). But I will concede that he came in at the right time, what with Captain Marvel growing desperate to stop incoming threats along with the Ultimates.
Do you think the event is good so far, or is more AXIS than Secret Wars?

It started surprisingly strong, making use of how fragile and fallible Marvel Heroes are. There is a kind of beauty seeing them push themselves through horrible decisions, the kind of choices we could make with all of our misgivings, prejudices and faults. Sadly the second issue came to an unexpected halt to add some rationale to the mix and got Bendis'd in quite the dull fashion. David Marquez is a wonderful artist that is giving his all on each and every page, and is really a great fit for the event. Still, we have a lot of issues to come (not sure on the exact amount, but they won't be few since Bendis always leans to long events) so the things could shape either way.
Oh, one more thing: The name of the event is just plain silly.

There are seven issues in all with several tie-ins. Though not to the extent of the original Civil War and some of the titles are doing miniseries Tie-ins

Also I am running out of patience with this event. Gonna give it one more issue, but it isn't looking good.
If you want to know why I am not liking it without spoilers it is simple. Too many badly handled deaths and the pacing is painfully slow.

Sure, although I will probably do it in a separate thread. Been thinking of reviving a "review" thread. Not sure if I have done it before on this site, but definitely on others

Well, to be on the short side and avoid any spoilers: Get it if you like how Bendis writes, the amazing art of David Márquez or the kind of event that likes to shake things up and show heroes as faulty and frail. Don't get it if Bendispeak irks you, if you prefer your heroes iconic or even myth-like or you don't agree with the writer changing and shaping things as he pleases.

I like Bendis' writing. Just not... Well any event comic written by him now I think about it. At least it isn't AXIS. The worst event comic I ever read. I hate it and almost every tie-in. The only exception was AXIS: Carnage.
