"Yes, we are in incredible danger now!" Mister Fantastic says, agreeing with the Human Torch's assessment. "Galactus is pointedly aware that potential pests--us--are near at hand!"So, from the belly of Taa II comes Galactus's "Cat". This 20 foot tall robot was created by Galactus for guarding his massive base, and dealing with any vermin that could inconvenience him. [OOC: For play by post, initiative order in the order in which you post. I'll wait until at least half the active players post before taking my turn, then everyone will be free to post a second turn.]

Hawkeye
"Well so much for being diplomatic, cant say I'm surprised that the over worldly being here thinks were not worth talking to. Like ants on a log. Oh and he brought a giant robot. Hey reed why don't you try talking sense to him, Colossus time to start punching, Kurt Stay with Reed in case he needs a bamf out. Johnny range fireballs at this tin can!"
Hawkeye was not a fan of diplomacy, it usually only reasonable if both parties agree to chat. And this robot was a minor act of sayng not worth the time of day and pointless. Thinking combat and avenger protocol into action taking Leadership initiative the moment that thing jumped out. Excluding the attack on reed earlier.
(OOC: Hawkeye is so gettng ready one explosive arrow and taking charge. If there is any opposing factor or have better suggestion please do stake your claim to those suggestions asap ^^)

FYI: This adventure takes place prior to Hawkeye's first stint as leader of the West Coast Avengers. However, his leadership during the Secret Wars may be one reason he will be "promoted" to leader of the new West Coast Avengers soon after the Secret Wars.

Human Torch
"hey! Who put you in... what the heck, flame on!" shouted Johnny as he took to the sky and flew about 50 feet above the 'Cat'. He made sure people were clear before raining fire down on the robot, but in his head he wondered just how effective he'd be given who and what they were up against.
"Say! Why doesn't someone go fetch Thor... Hulk... Benjy... She Hulk... anyone who can hold this thing down while we pound on it!"
ACTIONS
Unearthly flame blast from what he percieves to be a safe distance, only when his comrades are clear of any misses.

Combat Basics Combat rounds basically work like this:
Rolls to hit – Roll the dice and add any bonuses to beat the opponent’s Defence. A character can also try to move (charge into combat or run away) in this part of the round. Calculates damage – on a successful hit. Remove any damage from opponent’s Health.
Since we're all learning the rules, I'll be transparent and let you know that Galactus's "Cat" has a Defense of 5.
Hawkeye uses Quick 2 + Archery 3 (+5 Total) to fire a Fragmentation Arrow (Damage 4) q9w9Wf6u1d6+5
Human Torch uses Quick 2 + Throw Fire 1 (+3 Total) to cause Damage with Fire Control: 4 1d6+31d6+51d6+3

Both Hawkeye and the Human Torch blast the "Cat" but its body armor protects it!

Human Torch
"like everything else Galactus has, this thing is tougher than Benjys' ass, and that's sayin' something..." mutters the Torch. "We need someone who can slow it down... Spideys webs or... Hawk! you got anything can tie this thing down in one place?"

Hawkeye
Searching threw his quiver he labeled them so he cant mix them up. "I don't have anything to tie him down but is there by any chance you can melt his feet to the point they cant move?" Hawkeye responds

Human Torch
"Worth a try! Even if I can't melt its feet, maybe if I melt the ground around it...?" shouted Johnny.
ACTIONS
Pour on the heat to cause the ground around the 'cat' to liquefy and for the 'cat' to sink into it. Hopefully.

Melting the rocks under Galactus's "Cat" will have a Very Difficult (10) Target Number. Compare the result to the Target Number – if you equal or beat it, you have succeeded. If you have failed to beat it, your action has been unsuccessful (and there may be a consequence).

The Human Torch heats and softens the earth, but not enough to stop the giant robot.
The Guard Robot now moves to attack Colossus, perceiving the bruiser to be the biggest threat.

RRAKK!
Colossus Health drops from 15 to 13.
I now see that my house rule for damage isn't working because it makes Armour too powerful. I'm going to retcon in the official rules from the OneDice Supers Book (even though I think this makes the to hit skills too powerful.
Calculate Damage Take the total of the hit roll and subtract the target’s Defence (+ Armour). Then add any damage for the particular weapon. The result is the amount of Health the injured party loses.
This retcon means that Hawkeye and the Human Torch's previous attacks both did some damage to Galactus's Cat! Hawkeye did 3 damage and Human Torch did 1 damage.
Since we are learning, I'll reveal that Galactus's Cat had 12 Health and is now down to 8 Health.
Colossus Health drops from 15 to 11.

Hawkeye
Seeing it did a bit of damage he did have an idea, a long shot .... no pun intended, but would see what this team up idea would work (OOC: Again andyman since the quiver changes on how effects and damages are done can you tell what ethier the net arrow or the shock arrow can do? as far as damage or other effect, or even would help if I knew what my arrows in the quiver can do since the change of systems....)
Goal; with next shot intends to shock his system or cause it to be tangled up to set the big man up for a fist to face or a human torch speed tackle at their descresion

He does have a cable arrow, but no Boomerang arrow to allow it to make an ensnare attack. If tied around the robot it would reduce it's movement by 40 though, which may be enough to stop it. The Electrical arrow just does damage, but an object or person might have a vulnerability to electricity.
