The wind blows on your skin, pulling your clothes with it. The fresh air is relieving, but not needed up here. Not at the lookout. For some reason it was a little unnerving.
Looking around, you notice the area round you is roughly circular and 1,000 feet across, and covered in smooth white tile. At one side is a tall palace with three covered wings extending from center and each side. Trees in planters line the north, south, east and west edges; and two lines of planted palms line the pathway to the palace. In front of you, the crowd of fighters standing in a line before the building looks like an array of gathered martial artists and warriors of all kinds.
Though they are before the building, they all are standing at attention before someone.
Clouds gathered around you all as the one known as Kami steps toward the crowd and speaks.
“Thank you all for coming. Each of you have proven yourself worthy in training and or battle, and I know that today you will give it your all to achieve victory. However this tournament is different in that it just might determine the course of this planet.”
The gathered clouds grow a little darker with his words.
“The Earth has been threatened, by an outside force. I have summoned you here to determine who among you are Earth’s greatest fighters.”
Though his words seemed a little ominous, something in them seemed exciting.
“Those who prove worthy, I will take under my tutelage and will aid in the fight to come.”
Looking around, you wondered if deep inside you had what it takes.
