My friend is gonna send me his PDF version of the warhammer system if you still want it. Or do you intend to simply work it out with the MURPG system?

I think I'll just make it up on my own.

Anyway before we get started on a campaign or CADs... Let's start with character creation rules. (This is all WiP so feel free to suggest and critique)
For a stone count I'm looking for 40 stones + an additional 20 for your armor + unlimited challenges. This is offset by the fact that in 40k you are limited to not having much in the way of superpowers (unless you're a Psyker) and most power armor lacking all the built in weapons and gimmicks of Iron Man and other MU PAs. Basically you have a Space Marine Chapter, and a role you typically play on the battlefield. Think of these as basically character classes.
Scout Veteran: Lacks Power Armor, but gains bonuses to stealth and infiltration. (Almost all Space Marine chapters have their marines start as Scouts, with the Space Wolves, and Black Templars being two noteworthy exceptions) Tactical Marine(T): All rounder class, not as stealthy as scouts, good in close combat as an Assault Marine, and lacking the firepower of a Devastator. Devastator: The guys with the big guns laying down suppressive fire. Assault Marines(T): Close Combat specialists, often equipped with jetpacks. Apothecary(T): They serve two purposes, healing injured marines, and extracting the gene seed from fallen battle brothers. Chaplains(T): Spiritual mentors of the Space Marines. Their job is to rouse and rally the marines in battle. (Blood Angels, and Space Wolves combine this role with Apothecary creating Wolf Priests, and Sanguinary Priests Respectively) Techmarines: The tech guys of each chapter. In addition to building and maintaining weapons for the Chapters. They also have the most Iron Man like armor of the bunch with their suits containing servo harnesses with extra arms, often sorting extra weapons. Librarians(T): Space Marines who have psychic powers and the training to use them. Dreadnoughts: Basically a space marine mortally wounded and placed inside a life support mechanism which is in turn placed inside a huge robot. You are the biggest baddest, and depending on how long ago you were interred, most experienced marines out there. Only problem is your size and the amount of maintenance required for you can potentially leave you out of some missions.
(T): Indicates the class is capable of being equipped with Terminator Armor... Big Bulky heavy suits that are stronger, and allow you to carry more powerful weapons, but at the cost of making you slower, and less agile.
In addition to that. The following Classes are exclusive to certain Chapters.
Deathwing: (Dark Angels) Automatically equipped with Terminator Armor Ravenwing: (Dark Angels) You automatically get a bike to ride in battle Thunderwolf Calvary: (Space Wolves) You bring a giant Thunderwolf to serve as both a mount and a partner in battle. (This can result in potential accusations of Heresy by more puritan members of the Imperium.)

Chapter Benefits
In addition to your class your Chapter can provide some free bonuses too.
Dark Angels: +1 close combat, +1 Int White Scars: +1 Vehicle Operation, +1 Agl Space Wolves: +1 close combat, +2 Cold Defense Imperial Fists: +2 Ranged Combat, +1 close combat Blood Angels: +1 social skills, +1 close combat Iron Hands: +1 Int, +1 Technology Ultramarines: +1 Social Skills, +2 Leadership Salamanders: +1 Str, +2 Technology Raven Guard: +2 Black Ops, +1 Agl
Black Templars: +2 Close Combat, +1 Toughness Flesh Tearers: +2 Close Combat, +1 Str Blood Ravens: +3 to General Knowledge, +1 Int Black Dragons: +1 Str, +1 Bone Projections (As Claws) Lamenters: +3 Social Skills Angry Marines (Because why not): +2 Str, +2 Close Combat, -3 Social Skills
Black Shield: This is a marine who has renounced his former Chapter. Either because he was thrown out, or just because he wishes to keep it a secret between himself and the Watch Master. A Black Shield only gets one Ability/Action/Modfier to improve. However he gets to choose what ability that is. and I will roll a D3 to determine how high said increase is.

I'd go for Raven guard because that's what I played and it's cool

Of course there are many more potential chapters you can play. (Except for Grey Knights. Those MF's are too good/busy fighting Daemons for Deathwatch) I just laid out the bonuses for the most popular/obvious ones.

Maybe I'll try making one as well.
Black Shield Psychic, maybe with progressive amnesia ? I don't know much about the world (except from some friends CONSTANTLY talking about it), so a character who'll know a similar ammount might be a good idea. And a progressing amnesia could be a decent enough reason for e.g. a grey knight psycher to get permission to "retire" to a mixed "trash" unit. Especially when up to date memories would be vital where he came from. And it sounds like a reasonable "downside" to that constant "psychic power" abuse.. seems to come with some nasty side effects at times, right ?
A bit like a "burned out" war veteran, but with the old tough memories already up in smoke. Could be fun when running into some acquaintances from his hard ass past, while HE feels like a fresh recruit fresh out from a long relaxing vacation. (Not that there are any of such, as far as I know). Boost of choice 'd be int increase obviously. He'll remember his comerades faces distinctively well, that is as long as he will remember them.

Sounds like a plan, though not a Grey Knight... As part of the Inquisition, they would likely just kill him for being a liability rather than let him join the Deathwatch... Of course that's just my opinion.

Interesting. I may have to do further research given my utter lack of knowledge on the subject, but this sounds quite fun

If you want to play a Wolf Priest with a Thunderwolf, that could work in theory.

I'm thinking a Salamander Assault Marine. Someone who's tough but really knows his tech.

To be fair... Salamanders are more blacksmiths than techno-junkies... (Though considering how advanced 40k weapons are, I agrue they should have technology anyway.)
