NEW MECHANIC:
Blood Pool - Vampire Lords gain access to multiple special powers, many of which consume some of the blood drank by the vampire, and thus making them a bit more thirsty every time said powers are used. A vampire's Blood Pool's max capacity is equal to 3x their Durability AN - and will increase if their Durability increases, so yes, a Vampire Lord can consume considerably more blood in their demonic form - but they technically only need about 3 'blood stones' (as in 'stones in the Blood Pool') per day to survive (they literally 'burn' through 3 blood stones to power up their bodies enough for regular activities). However, they may need considerably more if they use their blood-based powers often. A vampire recovers as many blood stones as they drain energy via the various methods they can use to drain blood such as a direct bite, Vampiric Drain, and so on.
A normal human will suffer no serious harm from losing 3 stones of energy to a Vampire Lord's blood drain, aside from minor feelings of weakness and fatigue, and possibly mild nausea for a few hours. Beings with Healing Factors will recover considerably faster as their body can also regenerate lost blood with ease, and they can lose considerably more blood than normal with far less risk. Normal, full-grown humans are considered to have up to 10 blood stones worth of blood in their system at full health and capacity, but drinking more than 3 before their body can make more blood can be very dangerous to them, possibly lethal. For that reason, a vampire attempting to avoid attracting unwanted attention - or simply a non-evil one - will try to have multiple 'donors' at hand to ensure the safety of them all, rather than rely on a single blood source. A GM is encouraged to come up with different blood stones totals in other living beings; my own suggestions would be 5 for children, and about 20 for a horse-sized creature. Technically speaking, a vampire can drain blood from any creature and benefit from it; they simply prefer the blood of humans and other such sentient beings.
If a vampire falls at 0 Blood Stones - the minimum for a vampire; one cannot have negative blood - either by overusing their blood-based powers, failing to consume blood in time as a day passes without the required 3 blood stones in their system; a vampire will lose 1w of Health, which cannot be healed until they feed, take -1 to all actions due to the weakness brought upon by their thirst, and enter a state of blood frenzy (akin to a -3 challenge) which drives them to seek out blood as soon as possible, and without care for the victim's health, in addition to being unable to hide their nature anymore; their fangs are fully vampiric, their skin is as pale as death and empty black veins appear at the surface of their skin. A blood-starved vampire will grab the nearest blood source, bite into it and drink everything they can in one panel, putting everything they can in their Energy Drain action without regard for the victim, only managing to calm down - and losing the above-mentioned drawbacks - after this initial feast. If unable to drink within 6 hours, the vampire will lose another 1w of Health in addition to the first, take a total penalty of -2 to all actions, and so on every 6 more hours until they run out of Health. At 0, they are not destroyed fully, but crumble in a dried up skeleton-mummy like form under their own weakened and starved bulk, immobilized, unconscious and harmless until blood is poured in their dead mouths, allowing them to reform and come back to life.
If a blood-starved vampire is lucky enough to be in the company of allies who actually wish to let them feed on them, but they wish to not die from blood loss in the process, doing so is possible, although kindly asking the vampire to drink slowly is not going to cut it. A person can stand aside while another is being drained, readying an action to stop the vampire from drinking more than a little from the victim, for example by slamming a baseball bat to their head to get them to stop in time. Doing so will no doubt hurt the vampire, but it will be about what's needed to get them to let go and stop emptying their friend of their blood, and having drank enough to come down from their blood frenzied rush, the vampire can then calm down and drink more reasonably from other potential 'donors', thus allowing a vampire's allies to calm their friend down without allowing anyone to die. It's worth mentioning that the aforementioned baseball bat example may seem extreme, but less than that may very well not prove to be enough to daze a vampire enough to stop them from drinking their ally dry, so more force is preferable to not enough, since the vampire can take it - while the victim possibly cannot.)
