(OOC: I have no idea how the Chief is supposed to address a Petty Officer, so I'll just have her use his last name. Correct me if I'm wrong, please. Also, welcome, again, to the game, RidiculousNinja, lol.) James Etling saw the final seconds of his shift erode away until it was finally time to go home. Chief Thompson passed him by as she went to pick up a pile of documents on a nearby table, nodding at him as she did. "Day's over, Etling? Going straight back home, I take it?" she asked as she paused to listen to his response.

"Aye Chief, I may pick up some desert for dinner tonight but I think I need to get some early sleep in tonight." He had just finish a story that needed looking over but Chief could see it tomorrow. After all she had a family too.
(OOC: last name is fine lol)

"Probably a good idea", she teased. "The early bird may get the worm, but the only cat who'll get the bird is the one who's well rested and sharp enough to catch it. Get your butt back home, and give my regards to your lady and kid", she said warmly as she returned to finishing her own work for the day.
(OOC: Not sure where I took that personality from, but I really like it for some reason.)

James packed up and left. He knew he wasn't happy here. He wanted be back in the states but for now this was what he had to do for his family... he got into his little Japanese car and thought about his life. How boring he was. He always tried to make a point of making others laugh but deep down he wasn't an adventurous person. Preferring to be at home snuggled on the couch reading a book. Instead every day was go to work come home do chores go to bed because work. He couldn't even feel well rested from sleep anymore. In his thoughts he had moved slightly closer to the curve than he would've liked and quickly corrected himeself.

As he shuffled with those thoughts in his mind, he was soon brought back down to reality as he ended up in a fairly dense traffic, which soon slowed to a crawl.

"Great another twenty minutes or more..." James uttered to himself. He glanced at his phone then around to make sure there were no cops. He just wanted to call his wife to let her know he was going to be late.

Whether or not there was, in fact, an accident, something else caught his attention before he could make the call.
A gunshot. Someone had fired what sounded like a semi-automatic handgun, less than a hundred yards ahead of James' current location.

James froze. Guns were highly regulated in Japan and were pretty much only in the hands of the military or criminals. This is stupid.
Opening the car door James rolled out to the street and ran forward. Unsure what he wanted to even do. He just knew it was his job to help.

James rushed forward, going against the flow as other people were running away from the gunshot. Despite having to move around them, he soon made it to the scene he was heading to. Upon arrival, he quickly spotted a wounded man on the pavement... a cop, injured with lacerations on his abdomen, bleeding yet alive.
And standing further away was a man with long black hair, holding his head and seemingly trembling for some reason, although he seemed unarmed. The man seemed unresponsive for a moment... and then slowly glanced back at James. Which would not have been that surprising...
...had his eyes not been yellow with snake-like slits!
As soon as he saw him, the 'man' ran to the side of the viaduct they were standing on... and downright leaped off.

James froze when the scene came into view. Overwhelmed with fear he could not take another step until the monster jumped over the side of the cliff. He ran first to the officer who was bleeding and while not a corpsman his naval training did include some basic medical knowledge, though he never thought he'd have to use it. James quickly uncovered the wound and did what he could to clean then bandage the wound. If the officer was awake hell press his hand over the cloth (shirt or whatever is available). The next step would be to get emergency services so hell call the base to get an ambulance and police force out there. As he's calling he'll glance over the cliff.

James quickly took care of the still-conscious man as best as she could, before making the call and looking over the cliff... where the mysterious thing was nowhere in sight, of course.
"119, what is your emergency?" the operator said in Japanese on the phone.

Not being very good at foreign languages (have a hard time with learning everything except Latin and some European languages for some reason) James responded by saying the name of the road and City and "Keikan" (policeman). James will then say hurt in English.
Not much to do unless they know some English which they usually know a very small amount more often than not. So hell describe what he can especially if he's transferred to someone that does speak English.
During this hell just monitor the police man's situation all the while scanning for that thing he saw. Afraid it may comeback to finish whatever it was doing.

Luckily, they did have someone with intermediate knowledge of English, and he was able to explain the situation relatively easily. And luckily, whatever that thing was earlier didn't see it fit to return so far.
The paramedics and the police were on the scene soon enough to take care of the injured man, who had at this point lost consciousness, although James was fairly certain his life wasn't in danger. An officer asked him some questions with the assistance of a woman in a suit, again with a limited yet sufficient level of English, and then he was allowed to go.
(OOC: I leave it to you to decide what you said about that thing you saw.)

Maybe he saw someone or something. Maybe it was his imagination. But. He couldn't tell them what he thought he saw.... b ecause what he thought he saw was impossible. So instead he just described what he could leaving out the glowing eyes. Besides it was probably just some kind of reflection of light from somewhere.
Once he was free to go, James sat in his care to collect himself before heading home again. He made sure to dial his Chief to let her know of the incident per instruction. He realized he forgot to stop at the store for some drinks as he pulled near his place... but he figured he could go tomorrow.

The chief was very understanding. She even offered him to take a day off the next day if he needed to.
He came back home safely and without further interruption to find his wife feeding Oliver in the dining room. "Welcome home, dear. Oliver was too hungry, so he started without you", she said half-jokingly as she got up to greet him, and plant a kiss on his lips. "...Bad traffic?" she asked, as obviously, his encounter had slowed him down quite a bit.
