The Guardians of the Galaxy answer a distress call from a derelict space ship housing refugees and discover that they are fleeing a devastating war. They inform the Guardians that they have been left as the lone survivors of an attack by a large and aggressive armada attempting to use Earth's space as a staging point for greater territorial expansion: the Kree. The Guardians in turn attempt to contact the Avengers, only to discover that Nick Fury and Carol Danvers are missing. With Tony Stark and Natasha Romanova dead and Steve Rogers retired, the remaining Avengers are hastily called to action by Bruce Banner, when he suddenly loses control over the Hulk and attacks Vision and Scott Lang who try to stop him before he flees, leaving them incapacitated. Thor is mysteriously transported away by Stephen Strange who explains that Surtur's awakening was only the beginning of Ragnarok and that magic and the essence of life itself seems to be failing, hoping that the Asgard have an answer.
Earth's remaining heroes, whomever they are, are left to pick up the pieces and figure out what exactly is the root of their problems and how to stop it.

Set in the MCU after Far From Home. Although inspired by Disassembled, this won't be following every plot point from that storyline. At this point, I'm inclined to rule out Bruce Banner, Scott Lang, Nick Fury, Carol Danvers, and Vision, and allow no more than one of Dr. Strange or Thor. But a compelling pitch might persuade me otherwise. Anyone else who has had a major role and is still alive after Far From Home is still fair game. Characters from the Fantastic Four or major characters from the X teams are also fair game.
Don't send me numbers right away. I'll need to figure out who's interested in playing which characters before figuring out how to write them up.
