CHALLENGES
A Bit of a Maverick +1 While he respects his family and others who have gone on to accomplish great deeds, Zeus only truly values his own mind on things, and this independent streak often gets him into trouble. He plays by the rules because not doing so would rob him of opportunities, but in the end his objective is almost always to do things his own way.
Conflicting Interests +3 The Cazador family expects Zeus to become a great hero and bring honor to the family name, as well as protect their secrets and demonstrate loyalty to them above all else. The family has pushed him to follow their guidance his whole life, and he has no reason to think they won't direct his heroic career as well. The problem is, he knows that to be the kind of man his grandfather wants him to be will require him to be subject to no one. He is loyal to the family and does appreciate their wisdom, but how far can that go? Zeus has a head full of plans and dreams that don't necessarily align with their expectations, but he's also afraid to go against them directly. He's already abandoned his personal life to become a hero, and as a way of retaining some control he's started up a personal business on the side. For now, his long-term goals and theirs seem to align, but a future where he falls from their grace fills him with anxiety. It remains to be seen whether he can keep all those plates spinning at once...
Enemies of the Family +2 While many people in Argentina revere the Cazador family, they have also made many enemies abroad. These people will no doubt see the newest hero to rise up from the secretive legacy as a weak link, and will pose a challenge to him personally sooner rather than later.
Family Secret +2 In Argentina, the heroes of the Cazador family practically revered as demigods; a station that is much more strategic than accidental. For three generations now, the family has produced individuals with amazing superhuman abilities that the masses attribute to God’s favor. The truth is that Apollinaris Duarte Cazador – Zeus’ grandfather – was a brilliant innovator who learned to distill gene-changing properties into a serum that’s been carefully tailored over the years. An unfortunate side effect of this serum is that those members of the family chosen to receive it (only the best and brightest) are forbidden to have any relationships that might bear offspring, for the resulting mutations would be terrible – not just for the resulting child, but for the family’s image. This method of obtaining powers is frowned up by governments and the public, so if word got out it would pose a major challenge for the family.
He’s an Asshole, Sir +2 Zeus is self-confident and has a high opinion of his capabilities, which often rubs people the wrong way – and by default, he doesn’t really care. He isn't trying to make enemies, but he assigns a rating to everyone he meets and treats them accordingly.
