*BIO:
Meifeng was born to the Air Nomads, and was brought up as a normal air nomad child with her two younger siblings. Meifeng was a troublesome child to the elders, as she was too much of a mischievous goofball. Always playing pranks, making inappropriate jokes, "borrowing things without permission" and things of that nature would get her in lots of trouble. Usually this wouldn't stand with the other nomads, but Meifeng was pretty decent at airbending, so they tolerated her a little more than they usually would have with anyone else..
Growing up, she'd master air bending at the appropriate age, and would receive her arrow tattoos as was customary. She received her tattoos, and continued with her training. Meifeng was a very carefree and happy girl, expressing her happiness in various ways that often got her in trouble. It was a good life. But everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
Perhaps it was fate, or perhaps dumb luck, but Meifeng was spared by the fire nation's attack. In one of the temples she hid in a dark corner trying to avoid being caught. However, a fire bending soldier had found her hiding, and so they fought. Meifeng unfortunately did not fair too well, as she was not as combat trained as this soldier had been. He had knocked her out, and was going to kill her, until his attention was brought to another fleeing airbender, who he went to catch as well. Perhaps this soldier forgot about Meifeng, but he apparently never came back, and she was knocked out in that dark well hidden corner. Maybe an hour or so later, she regained her consciousness, and smelled smoke in her area. Fleeing the building she was in, she saw the ending aftermath of her city and people. The fire nation had finished executing all of her people, and were now burning down all the buildings to finish up their attack. Panicking, Meifeng fled away hoping she wouldn't be caught.
Meifeng successfully did escape that day, and went into a nearby town to find security. While she was safe in the city Meifeng did her grieving. Weeks went by and she refused to come out of her room, and barely ate anything at all. She had been taken in by a nice family who was willing to let her stay at their home, as they pitied her for the loss of her people. It took awhile, maybe a couple of weeks, but Meifeng finally was able to leave the house to try and live life.
Meifeng tried to repay the nice family who took her in by taking up small jobs around the town. With the small amount of money she was able to get, she'd try and pay rent until she could get on her own feet. She couldn't shake off the feeling of sadness, though. The old Meifeng seemed dead and she was replaced with a sad sack of a girl. She even took up drinking as she heard it helps ease the pain of the past. However, while out drinking, Meifeng was hit with wise words to live by.
"The fire nation may have killed your people, but don't let them kill you too. You're alive. Show them your airbending spirit isn't dead by living your life to the full."
Wise words indeed. Even though she wouldn't refuse a drink of booze, she'd try her best to be happy. Even if she has to fake her smiles and laugh when she didn't want to, she'd try and get the old Meifeng back by living it up as best as she could.
