Hey guys... I don't know if anyone else watches this website/youtube channel called Miniwargaming, but they have been doing this narrative warhammer 40k campaign based on the Expendables (Not so much the movies themselves, as much as the concept).
I kinda wanna do the same thing, but with Marvel Superheroes rules. (Because I legit wanna try that system for once.)
The premise is very simple... You create a relatively badass normal character based on an action hero movie star preferably from the 80s or 90s, and from there we just wing it into a campaign.
anyone interested?

what would the build point be for a relatively badass normal character from the 80s or 90s?

I was thinking instead of rolling a character you guys make your own characters with their own stats, and then I work with you to edit and fine tune the character for the sake of game balance.

Oh I may pull out some obscure named actor you may have never known. But for shits and giggles I dug this up.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
The Net (TV Series) 1999 Brody - Last Man Standing (1999) ... Brody (as Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson)
That '70s Show (TV Series) Rocky Johnson - That Wrestling Show (1999) ... Rocky Johnson (as The Rock)
But in truth, I was thinking of utilizing Benny "The Jet" Urquidez. 19 Films in the 80s through 90s
Height 5 ft 6 in Weight 145 lbs
Kickboxing record Total 67 Wins 63 By KO 57 Losses 1 Draws 1 No Con 2
Martial arts: Boxing, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Jujutsu, Kendo, Shotokan, Kajukenbo

One more thing. I WILL be changing up the Karma system so that as befitting an 80s action hero you won't lose Karma for killing, or letting the villains die.
That part always seemed bulls*** to me when I read it (You're telling me, I can lose XP for stuff that I had no control over?!)

That part always seemed bulls*** to me when I read it (You're telling me, I can lose XP for stuff that I had no control over?!) Well, if its an 80s 90s theme karma scheme .. I would say you don't get any bonuses for killing bad guy minions unless its in a one on battle battle with a ranked minion and you give a good one liner. For instance Commando when Arnold was fighting the green beret ... "you scared mother fucker, well you should be. Because this green beret is going to kick your ass." Arnold ... "i eat green berets for breakfast, and right now, I am very hungry" Also when you killed that little guy messenger. "Hey sally, remember when i promised you i would kill you last" while holding him by his ankle from an impossible fall. sally "that's right matrix, you did!!" Arnold "I lied" drops him from cliff. few seconds later girl asks "what did you do with sAlly. Arnold replies 'i let him go' On the airplane he kills the guy guarding him, then tells the steward not to bother his friend he is 'dead tired' karma points for those, but mowing down waves of minions, nothing. double karma points for killing the big bad in a one on one epic fight with ending quips. "chill benet"

To clarify, are we supposed to select the actor or the part they played?

You select an actor and then create a character that they might play in this kind of movie.
