Lex Luthor, The Savior of Metropolis At the turn of the century Lex Luthor was nothing more than a college drop-out working on preparing systems for the potential threat of the "millennium bug". Less than a year later he was at the head of a multi-million dollar tech empire. That's what his bio says, at least. Much of Lex's early career is hazy. What is known is that as smartphones became ubiquitous, LexNet became the most popular cellular network in the world due to its high quality and extraordinarily low price. Now Lex is the wealthiest man in the world, and various LexCorp subsidiaries provide a large portion of the world's consumer goods and services. In Metropolis, Lex Luthor is all but royalty. More than one third of the city is employed by Lex's companies directly, and Lex is widely credited for doing for the city financially what Superman did for the safety of its citizens. Of course, every great man has his detractors, and Lex has been accused of a wide variety of crimes, though none of them have stuck. Quite recently, he was questioned by the United States Congress, but most in Metropolis would agree that it was little more than political grandstanding, and Lex acquitted himself well.

Bo "Bibbo" Bibbowski, Community Activist After serving in the U.S. Navy, Bibbo was briefly a ranked heavyweight boxer before falling on hard times. After decades on the streets of Metropolis' "Suicide Slum", Bibbo had a run-in with Superman that changed his life forever. Inspired, he fought his addictions and eventually came into the ownership of a local dive bar, the Ace O' Clubs. Bibbo was known for his generous spirit, but it wasn't until the death of Superman that he rose to the attention of the city at large, first for being seen worldwide in images, holding world famous reporter Lois Lane back, restraining her from getting too close to the battle between the titans, and in the immediate aftermath, organizing rescue efforts and then efforts to house and people displaced by the attack. Bibbo has generally eschewed media attention, but has regardless become something of a local hero.

Mercy Graves, the Executive Born Mercedes Lisa Graves, Mercy spent her formative years in Metropolis' Suicide Slum, and joined the Marine Corps at the age of 18 to get out. After four years' service, Mercy left and used the G.I. Bill to attend Metropolis University where she earned her business degree. Through all of this, she was supported by Lex Luthor, who first discovered her through her participation in the youth programs he sponsors across Metropolis, and especially in the most impoverished areas. As soon as she graduated, Mercy was made Vice-President of LexCorp, and Lex is nrarely seen without her. Mercy is known to be a brilliant woman in her own right, not an expert in technology and science like Lex, but acutely socially aware, a master of numbers and legal specifics. Sometimes mistaken for Lex's bodyguard (and to be sure, Mercy Graves has stopped attempted attacks on Lex several times), Mercy is an imposing force who is being groomed, many believe, to take over Lex's operations while Lex pursues his rumored political ambitions.
