The young man avoids the Vision's grip and looks to be about to strike the android, when Starfox intercedes. "I've never felt so good before," the young man says to Eros. "I believe you can help me!"
Meanwhile, the Scarlet Witch spots a group of eight football players entering the park.

Wanda barely got a word in edge-wise as the ever capricious Starfox abandoned his flirtations almost as soon as he had started, leaving her alone to lookout duty. Spying a team of football players coming up on the group, she decided to head them off before they got too close. Approaching with a smile and a wave she asked:
"Hello boys, what's going on here today?"

"Wanda. Put the Helmet on him. I will deal with the players." Vision said stepping between the two groups, and inceasing his density to the point his boots began to sink into the earth a bit as a way of showing these men they do not want to start trouble. "Greetings civilians. Please don't mind us. This is official Avenger business, and it is for the best you do not interfere."
Increasing my Density to Amazing.

"Phew... good to see the Flying Fox at work again. And a mission without any bruises or burns on our end for a change"
But as Monica tries to make light of their good fortune, she can't help but wonder why this guy is so high-strung... and where the alien device in Immortus' vision that gave him future-dooming enhanced intelligence had come from. Even if the (presumed) memory erasure stops this guy from picking it up, who put it there in the first place?
She leans in and whispers to Starfox- "Ask him where the cave is- I'll go scout it out."

 Starfox smiles warmly. "Tell me my friend, what may I call you? I am... Eros." He frowns a little. "I'm foreign." he adds. "As are my friends. We are looking for a cave near here which you may be able to help us find. We think there is something dangerous there and need to make sure no one is harmed. You'll not only be helping us, you'll be helping more people than you can possibly imagine!" he adds with a grin and his smile broad. |

The football players tell Wanda that they are looking for their teammate, between comments about her costume and attractiveness. These high school boys soon spot the young man speaking with the other Avengers and head in that direction until the Vision stands in their way.
"You don't look like any Avenger I know." Says one of the players.
"I think he looks like a tackling dummy!" says a second.
"Let's get 'im team!" shouts a third.
[Note: Harming a high school football player means losing some Karma.]
Meanwhile, the young man replies to Starfox. "Yes, come with me to the cavern!" The teenager then starts walking off, signaling for Starfox to follow.

Wanda stammers:
"That's because we're...uh...actors! Rehearsing for...a...production of...The Wizard of Oz! Updated for our modern times, a new special production of the Wizard of Oz mixed in with some elements of..."
Wanda trailed off as she tried to recollect era-appropriate media:
"Flash Gordon. Yep, that's it."
Pointing to Vision and Starfox in turn, she continues:
"These guys realllllly get into their character. That's the heartless Tin Man. More machine than man sometimes. And he, over there, that's the BRAINLESS SCARECROW! WHO FORGOT HIS DOODAD!"
She shouts after Starfox and the young man, before returning her attention to the football team.
Apologizing she adds:
"Our Tin Man lost out a job to Patrick Macnee. You know. John Sneed? For The Avengers? He's still a bit bitter."
Taking a dramatic bow, she gestured to herself and Monica:
"I am Glinda, the Good Witch. And that's Dorothy."
Almost smacking herself in the face at the open display of their powers and Vision calling himself an Avenger, she stopped herself:
"There's lots of special effects, and, say, you know, how would you like to be in a movie! We could use some big strong men to play soldiers? Help us rehearse and the job is yours. All you have to do is take this...doodad...and put it on that guy's head? Only just...be gentle! It's quite fragile - supposed to be the crown for the Cowardly Lion or something but he called in sick, and we've only got the one. Your friend, or whatever, agreed to be a stand-in for us while we rehearse?"
She pointed after their target, almost flapping around frantically trying to keep the high school boys' attention.

Monica steps in. "Don't worry, uh... Glinda. I'll make sure the prop is taken back to the department for our next rehearsal. But if you really think these guys are Muscle Beach material, then maybe the Tin Martian can entertain them for a bit while you judge the results. We'll call you soon enough- after all, we have each other's cards." (wink)
She waits for Wanda to give her the headset, so she can run off to join Starfox and the sinister scientist-to-be.

The football players fumble when Vision goes intangible. They don't seem to be listening to Scarlet Witch and her story, that may all be for the best. Wanda can pass the headset to Captain Marvel if she wants, but Starfox and the young man are now out of sight. ----- Starfox is led to a deserted mine shaft. "The entrance is buried under tons of rubble, but with your strength we can clear a way through the debris in minutes!" Starfox finds himself quickly agreeing to help this young man. Maybe too quickly. [OOC: roxolid please make a Psyche FEAT roll.] |

Captain Marvel
Taking the headset, Captain Marvel runs off in the direction that Starfox and the young man headed. Soon, she spots a hill up ahead with a dark cave entrance under it.
Starfox
Within the entry to a collapsed tunnel, Eros realizes that it's not normal for him to feel so pleased about clearing rubble from a cave entrance. What is also not normal is this young man's ability to lift and move large boulders.
"Just a few minutes more," the young man mutters to himself, "and I'll triumph over all mankind!"
[OOC: Starfox succeeded on his Psyche FEAT roll (just barely) and may now act normally.]
Wandavision [OOC:I couldn't resist.]
"Forget these clowns!" yells one frustrated football player.
"Yeah, we're supposed to be meetin' up with our star player." says a second.
"Where'd he go?" asks a third.
"I think he went to the old mine without us." offers a fourth.
"Let's go catch up to him." suggests a fifth.
"GO TEAM! GO!" cheer the other three as they all hustle off in the same direction that Captain Marvel ran moments ago.
