Starborn
-If killed, otherwise dying or simply via physically passing through the Unity - the Center of the Multiverse - James will be reborn again, and significantly empowered. In game terms, this effectively functions as Reconstitute Self, but will also give him 50w character stones (typically but not always to improve his Starborn powers or gain new ones). He will not reappear in the same location either, instead manifesting in his Starborn Guardian ship, wearing his Starborn Spacesuit, in orbit around the Earth.

As such, they can relatively easily be identified by such fairly simple examinations. Furthermore, if ever killed, a Starborn will seemingly turn into star light and dust, before dissolving into thin air, instead of leaving a body behind.)
-Looking Non-Human (-2; has a long, semi-prehensile fox tail the same color as his hair, no body hair outside the head, tail, and eyebrows, and produces excessive earwax.)
-Psychological (-2; moderate compulsion to be armed at all times. James shares his species' love/obsession with weapons and arms of all kind, as well as the desire to be armed at all times, despite his own, personal power and his own preference for physical might and martial arts.)

A powerful Hand Phaser typically used by Security Officers, but as a Fae'Rhal, James wouldn't have accepted to serve in Starfleet without the right to bear arms regardless of situation. A variable settings weapon, it can be used for a wide variety of situations.)

Unlike other Tricorders, this one is better overall, but unfocused on any specific task.)
-Starfleet PADD (+2 to all Computers uses; Can remotely connect with computers. A 'Personal Access Display Device' serving as a portable microcomputer with multifunction touch-pad controls, tons of programs, standard Combadge capabilities, extensive data storage capacity, remote starship operations controls, videogaming, and so on. A PADD can operate without recharge for 100 hours. It can either be recharged instantly with an appropriate power cell, or recharged over 2 hours via pretty much any electromagnetic energy source.)
RESERVE EQUIPMENT
-Starborn Spacesuit Astra (+3 Defense, No 2x damage, No AP; +3 to Energy Defense; +3 to the use of all Starborn powers, Indestructible. Cannot be scanned, replicated or identified. A white, sleek, form-fitting armored spacesuit with matching helmet with an opaque visor, made of solidified Cosmic energy and adapting perfectly to its matching Starborn user. Like Starborn themselves, it is said their Spacesuits also evolve when they pass through the Unity. If killed, a Starborn's Spacesuit will dissolve just like their user, but 'respawn' on them when they are reborn.)
-Broken Britannian Harken Pistol (Basically a weaponized grappling hook, this strange pistol looks like a high-tech wheel-lock pistol with a dagger sticking out of the barrel. While broken, James has managed to rid it of most of the rust and dirt.)

STORY: Captain James Howlet of the USS Vanquisher is not only one of the most effective and efficient Starfleet officers in recorded history; he is also the official ambassador for the Howlet Clan of the Fae'Rhal. Technically answering to the authority of his brother Travis Howlet Jr - who himself leads the Howlet Clan in general as their father prefers fighting over leadership duties - James is also in command of the only Indomitable class Starship in the entire Federation, a design created by Travis, their mother Henrietta, Dr. Hal "Otacon" Emmerich and the Federation's other top engineers. While most Federation ships rely on diplomacy and negotiations to de-escalate conflicts, the Indomitable was created hand-in-hand with the best and brightest Fae'Rhal scientists as an answer to situations requiring a more... heavy-handed approach.
Indeed, as a Fae'Rhal warrior in addition to his background as a Starship officer, James was more than happy to volunteer as the captain of the closest thing to a full-on combat-focused warship the Federation has ever created, while still retaining solid facilities in other areas for the sake of versatility. Still, the Vanquisher is more than equipped to answer force with... well, even greater force when the need arise. He's obviously expected to follow standard Federation guidelines if possible, but as a Fae'Rhal "ambassador" (both with and without quotation marks), he is known to be more than willing to power up weapon systems when the need arise.
James himself is not only a capable warrior, but also a quite significantly talented Starfleet officer with quite a bit of technological know-how, general knowledge, tactical skills and field experience. But perhaps more amazing are his superhuman abilities: one of the extremely rare Starborn, he wields various cosmic, stars/space/gravity-based powers. Furthermore, Travis was able to perfect the use of ADAM, EVE and the plasmids formula they discovered in an underwater city known as Rapture, rendering it considerably safer and more stable, apparently lacking any of the usual negative side effects and risks, and James was one of the first to benefit from his experiments, at his brother's request. Said powers have proven to be invaluable in the young man's adventures.
Along with his crew of talented, capable individuals with both great skill and potential, Captain James Howlet travels the blackness of space to further the interests of both the Federation, and the Howlet Clan. To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations...
