Always, always curse Wolverine. And I dunno, I liked Superman Returns. It wasn't amazing, but it was also not Superman IV.

See, and I thought Superman IV was okay... I mean, strip away the ham-handed anti-nuclear storyline and the terribly dated 80's styling of "Nuclear Man" and you've got some good stuff. Lex Luthor behaving much more like his current self and much less like his kooky mad scientist Golden Age self (although there a bit of that as well), and we get to see Superman battle a super powered being for the first time since Superman 2!
Superman Returns was also "okay", but it didn't excite me the way I wanted it to. Also, the whole "Superman has an illegitimate son" bit really turned me off to the rest of the storyline (and it took me about 30 seconds to figure out it was Superman's kid). The casting was pretty bad, as well IMO.
Honestly, I think Superman 3 is the worst of the films. Despite Richard Pryor, the movie was more goofy than awe-inspiring. And if Superman can't inspire awe... what good is he?
(Which is my argument to all the crybabies who b*tch about Superman lifting the "Kryptonite island" at the end of Superman Returns... he's Superman, duh! His purpose is to do things you don't think he can! But not re-build the Great Wall of China with eyebeams. Thats just stupid)

Although Superman IV: The Quest for Peace is extremely bad, I would recommend checking out Plan 9 From Outer Space or Norbit before we start throwing around "Worse Movie Ever."

... or just about anything that was ever shown on Mystery Science Theater 3000...
Or that awful Captain America movie where he wears a motorcycle helmet...

You mean this one?
Yes, I hate that one too.

Yes, that would be the one.
I don't know why small things bug me (when theres clearly so much wrong with that film), but I gotta ask... how hard would it have been to get his costume right? I mean, even if you HAVE to show the guy wearing a motorcycle helmet at all times, the torso of his costume and the shield could have been done in the traditional style (or, if you're going to alter it, alter it to look less lame...)

Can you stop bringing up movies I am trying to suppress in my memory? First Guyver now Captain America.... By the way I remember the old Spider Man movies a little bit before the Capt America movie. That was pretty bad. Also just about every movie involving DND has been spectacularly bad. MadCap

You've never seen Mystery Science Theater 3000?? I pity you. Great stuff (well, usually). Santa Vs. the Moon Men. How can you beat that?
But yes... Superman 3 was terrible. Even "evil Superman" didn't make it watchable.
I think the best thing about Superman 3 is that after he touches the funky Kryptonite that turns him evil, his cape and boots turn a darker shade of red. Radiation not only affects your behavior, it alters the dye in Kryptonian clothing!

That was... genuinely awful. Again, I'm going to nitpick one small thing amongst so many other horrors...
What was up with Guy Gardner? First, if you're going to make the Flash Barry Allen (rather than Wally West who ACTUALLY served with those other Justice Leaguers), you obviously could go with any Lantern you wanted too... so why Gardner? Second, he looked NOTHING like Gardner, except the costume.
For the record though... the JLA comic at that time was pretty horrible too.

The one that drove the old JLAers constantly into the point of exasperation? I don't think they were the JLA at that point. MadCap
