Frank's age was beginning to catch up to him, but there was no way he was just going to let the Hulk tear him apart. Frank was throwing elbows into those in his way. He'd get to killing them as soon as he was out of harm's way. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Health: 3/3 Energy: 3/9

It is I'm afraid. It was a good game though. I always enjoy roleplaying Wolverine.

I was following it too, but with Evil Penguin (Punisher) gone, and Deadpool disappearing, what can ya do?
I was looking forward to how this one might end up - kind of a bummer.

Wolverine and Punisher sped through the tunnel as swiftly as their legs could carry them, but the throng of people wasn’t making for a smooth trip. Thinking quickly, Logan disemboweled the spectator nearest to them with professional expediency, knocking the poor fool into the legs of those behind the SHIELD agents and causing a massive collision of escapees. That done, the two continued to move, now much less constrained. Wolverine’s obvious willingness to slay them had convinced even the criminals in front of them to give them wide berth, and so unimpeded they managed to escape from the stadium and into the street. What awaited them outside was reminiscent of an Afghani village. Cars lined the unpaved street for as far as they could see, and the architecture was mostly simplistic in nature. The exception was the arena that had been serving as their prison, which towered above them. Wherever they were, it certainly wasn’t home. Wolverine took up his position on the wall beside the door as the spectators continued to pour into the street while Castle caught his breath and tried to decide where to go next. Clearly this "Koechner" had to be dealt with, but how would they find him? He didn’t have a whole lot of time to ponder it, because the telltale sounds of massive footsteps signaled that the Hulk had managed to follow them, unfazed by any puny humans that got in its way. The agents still had a head start and probably wouldn’t have to worry about facing off with the monster, at least not in the next minute or so, but it was clear that their problems are far from over. OOC: Okay, so I know it’s been for freaking ever since this game was active, but Fun expressed interest, so I figured I’d post and if you guys want to get it going again, then we can finish it up. I’m really sorry about disappearing like I did, and trust me when I say that I felt like I didn’t have any other choice. But, that’s neither here nor there. Let’s see if we can reboot a much-loved game.

((Hell yes! HELL YES!))
Frank watched the people pour of the building, and there was a sick glare in his eye that foretold what fate he had planned for them. Still, this was a good moment to get some rest, make a plan, and put a stupid amount of distance between the Hulk and themselves. Plan...
"We need to hotwire one of these cars. We get some distance, make a game plan, come back and kill everyone. Sound good?"
Frank reloaded his rifle as he walked to the one that looked the quickest, eyes scanning for anyone who would come near it. If someone did, Frank would not hesitate to keep his gun trained on them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(OOC: Booyah!!! ^_^)
Wolverine
It wasn't Wolverine's way to run away normally, but this was the Hulk they were speaking about... and if you knew what's good for you, you better run away from that guy.
-Sounds perfect. Move it, the big green ugly's about to show up!
Logan ran to the nearest car (preferably a fast one) and opened the door. Wether he simply opened it or tore the lock away with his claws depended on if it was locked or not. Then he sat in the driver's seat, and proceeded to hotwire the vehicle, using his claws as a tool if necessary... just like old times.
-I drive, you shoot! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start H: 5/5 E: 7/15
1 stone into Close Combat, plus 3 (AP) from my adamantium claws, to open the door if necessary.
6 stones into Black ops to hotwire the car.
End E: 0/15 Defense: 1 (Ref.Dodge) Mental defense: 5 (4 Int, 1 Mental defense)

(OOC: . Also, I play with the breather rules Fun, so you'll actually regenerate twice your normal rate and thus be at full energy. You know, if you wanna.) *Snickt!* The car door swung open easily once Wolverine demonstrated his unique lock-picking skills, and he and Castle were now the proud owners of a relatively new sedan. Not only did it appear to be the fastest available ride, but it was also one of the only ones that appeared as though it wouldn’t collapse with the slightest provocation. Frank covered them with his rifle as they both slid into the vehicle, though it was clearly unnecessary. It was hard to tell if the crowd was more terrified of the Hulk or the agents, but either way they were in no hurry to stop running and try to prevent the heroes from escaping. It didn’t surprise either of them much. Criminals were exactly known for bravery. Another *snickt* and the car’s engine roared to life. Logan had no trouble keeping on the road, but the fact that it wasn’t paved was obvious enough in the way the car’s shocks were consistently tested. The car shot through the street semi-aimlessly, their only directions being away from the Hulk. They’d only been driving for about 30 seconds before a crash echoed through the village, shaking the ground with its volume. A quick look through his scope told Frank the entire story, as a mass of green flesh was wielding one of the support columns of the arena in its right hand and a limp Sabretooth in the other, smashing everything within range with both items. Even as far away as they were they could hear the screams of rage that were coming from the belly of the monster- “HULK SMASH!” Castle’s knee jerk reaction was satisfaction, knowing that the place where they’d been kept captive was now the grave of dozens if not hundreds or even thousands of scumbags who had been willing to watch two-bit villains try to kill them. He could only be satisfied for so long however. The creature looked right at Frank, staring down the scope before emitting another terrifying roar and breaking into a run before pole-vaulting with the support column! The creature landed without breaking stride, and though he was still several hundred yards away, was slowly gaining on the sedan! Wolverine wasn’t yet aware of how much trouble was behind them, but he had his own set of problems. Ahead of them was a T-junction, and either turn clearly led to a road that would lead them around the city. If the car continued straight, however, they’d be driving through thick jungle in an Impala!

Castle wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't seen it with his own two eyes.
"Son of a bitch. Hulk's at our six, he's got a column in one hand and Sabretooth in the other. He's gaining."
Frank knew his bullets would mean as much to the Hulk as gnats to a windshield. A frontal assault was suicide, but there was no way the car could last in the woods with all the foliage and trees. No matter how much Frank hated to admit it, they really only had one option.
"We drive back through the city, he's gonna tear half of it down for us, but there's no way we're going to outrun him. Could hit him with another flash, but that'll just make him faster and stronger. We need to find something that'll piss him off more than us... Either that, or figure out a way to get him to revert."
Frank kept his eyes open for any other baddies that hadn't had their chance in the arena and were looking for them now.
"Unless you have adamantium bullets, I don't see many ways out of this one."

Wolverine
Logan smiled at the mention of what was happening with ole' Sabertooth, despite the critical situation they were in.
-To think I choose to drive.. I'd kill just to see Sabertooth being used as a club. Heheheh.
Logan thought for a moment, but he didn't slow the car down yet.
-Anyway, you're right. We have to get him off our backs, and I don't wanna fight him. He's not a criminal. He's Banner, and Banner's a civilian... I don't kill civies. Best way to make him loose our track is to make him think we're dead, right? Then I say we drive right into the jungle, we jump as soon as we're in and we let the car crash! If you can blow up the gas tank with your guns, it'd be even more convincin'. After that, we get our butts away from the car wreckage ASAP and we hide... if we're lucky, the smell of gas and the fire should keep him from finding us out by smell. So whaddya think?
They didn't have much time to discuss it, so Wolverine acted right away. He accelerated a bit more to get to the jungle as quickly as possible, and then slowed down just enough so that trained soldiers such as him and castle could jump out without getting killed.
-I hope you're ready... Let's go!
Logan jumped off the car as it entered the jungle, just far enough to not be seen from the outside, his claws out and in front of him, ready to cut anything that he would normally smash in. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (OOC: Good thing you recovered that energy... I think you'll need it, lol)
Start H: 5/5 E: 7/15
3 stones into Vehicle operations (Any) to perform that little stunt of faking an accident after entering the jungle; note that I slow down a bit before impact to allow me and Punisher to escape relatively unscathed.
4 stones into Agility, shifted to defense, to leap off the car before impact; hopefully helped by my adamantium claws to keep me from smashing into anything as I fall.
End E: 0/15 Defense: 5 (1 Ref.Dodge, 4 actions) Mental defense: 5 (4 Int, 1 Mental defense)

The runt made a good point. Hulk wasn't exactly known for his deductive skills. Usually he just waited until things were on fire and smoking and then would wander off to find the next thing to kill. Frank wasn't exactly thrilled with this idea, but it sure beat the Hell out of anything he could think of. A gloved hand reached into his trenchcoat, removing a grenade. He waited until they were nearing their target before tossing the grenade in the back seat of the Impala, his shoulder connecting with the door as he pulled the handle. He was used to rolling out of cars, as much as anyone in this line of work could be, but if this would trick the Hulk was another thing entirely.
Frank dove out of the car and hit the earth with a thud, his body rolling along the ground over and over. When he stopped rolling, he could only hope that Hulk wouldn't go further, but just in case, Frank remained motionless, as though falling out of the car had killed him. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Health: 3/3 Energy: 9/9
Ah, see, now I like that rule! Ok..
Spending 4 stones into Special Ops shifted to defense to basically do your typical tuck and roll, while maintaining enough distance from the car that the explosion isn't gonna hit me.
Great idea, Asmodeus! Seriously, I didn't see a way out of that.

Wolverine shot claws first through the windshield, slicing a not-so-neat path as the car crumpled with the force of the crash. He landed hard on his shoulder, rolling with the force and winding up with his chest to the ground in the underbrush. Castle was quick to join him, having left a little surprise in the vehicle… The ensuing explosion rocked the ground and sent a fireball into the sky that could be felt even from their position so close to the earth. As they’d hoped, the Hulk roared with something between appeasement and anger and turned away, continuing to smash anything that moved around him. The two agents huddled in the brush for a moment, catching their breath and watching as the monster disappeared into the city. A few seconds passed, during which neither man could be certain that they were safe, when suddenly the pillar the goliath had been carrying appeared over the skyline and slammed into the ground next to them, creating a deep scar in the dirt and missing their heads by only a few inches. Clearly, anything this close to the Hulk would never be safe. From here, the only thing they had to go on was the initial briefing. Koechner was on the island somewhere, that is, if they hadn’t scared him off by escaping from captivity. Their original mark had been a mansion several miles from the drop point, but there was no way for them to determine where that was in relation to their current position. Suddenly, their respective communicators filled with static., and Fury’s voice could be heard, albeit barely. “Castle…ogan…hear…this…get…ground. I repeat, get to higher…radio in," was all they heard before the static took over again. The signal was just too poor... __________________________________________________________ OOC: Brilliant plan Asmo! You can take an extra LOE

Moments passed in tense silence, only the near silent breathing of Frank and Logan filling the air. Then the pillar crashed down beside them. Had Frank not been himself, he'd yelled and drew back, but in this case, he lifted an arm in surprise and then lowered it slowly when he realized they weren't dead. In the now much tenser silence afterwards, Frank muttered under his breath,
"Good job."
High praise indeed coming from the Punisher.
That was when the communicators went buzzing in their ears. Frank sat up, leaning against the pillar as he checked his rifle. Intact. Frank was sure Logan made out just as much as he had.
"Higher ground's a good idea. We get in touch with Fury, and get a lay of the land around here. Then we find Koechner. I want that piece of sh*t dead like nothing else on earth."
Castle's hatred was palpable, and Logan could smell the controlled fury that emanated from his form. While Frank was never one to let his emotions get the better of him, anyone who knew him knew that he could use that fury to his advantage in ways no other man could dream. Frank kept knelt down as he motioned deeper into the woods. This was their element. No one knew jungle like Frank Castle and the Wolverine. Years in 'Nam for Castle, years of experience for Logan. As Castle moved deeper, he'd turn back towards Logan, raising a brow.
"You smell anything?" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Health: 3/3 Energy: 8/9
I feel it really bears mentioning again that Asmo saved our asses there. Awesome plan.
Alright, so Frank is going to use his special ops training from 'Nam to study the jungle and find us some high ground further in. Spending 3 stones into special ops to do this. Once there, he'll radio Fury for intel.

Wolverine
Logan stood up slowly, watching the pillar with a "that was damn close" face. With an adamantium-covered skull and his healing factor, he would certainly have survived, but he would have been knocked out for hours, if not days. Standing next to the rubble and broken trees left behind by the sedan, Logan retracted his claws (snikt!), cracked his knuckles and then his neck with a quick tilt of the head. Even if the Hulk was still quite dangerous even at a distance, this was the first time since they were awake that they could truly safely catch their breaths.
-Nope, smellin' nothin' else than ourselves yet, and fire, smoke, dirt and the jungle. And many small animals and other insignificant stuff.
Logan was smiling, like he finally was in his element. In that pit, his foes had him where they wanted, and he was fighting by their rules. Out in the jungle, in the wilds, the Wolverine was on his territory, and the roles were reversed: he was no longer the prey... Now, at long last, he was the predator. As an added bonus, Electro was most likely dead, and so was Bullseye. If Mystique wasn't dead, she wasn't havin' a good day, and Toad was probably meetin' his makers right now. He doubted that Brock was dead, but he was sure that Sabertooth would come back to plague his life again. All in all, the day wasn't so bad so far.
He nodded as he walked next to the Punisher:
-Alright. Let's go. I hope Fury has some freakin' good news this time, 'cause I don't wanna hear something else went bad. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Start H: 5/5 E: 7/15
No action for now, just walking and speaking.
I always keep using my Animal Senses of 7 to watch out for dangerous animals as we advance.
