Anybody want to watch two Sith duke it out?
My vote is for Maul, but since he's one of my favorite Star Wars characters, my viewpoint is a bit skewed.

While it might be interesting, I'm not sure how well Maul would do. Looking at Sith rank and power, Tyranus was a Sith Lord while Maul is very powerful, but he was still of lower rank. Looking at it, I think it's very likely that Tyranus would win. He had a better control over the force and could probably match any lightsaber form that Maul threw his way.

Also consider that Tyrannus not only fought both Obi-wan and Anakin to a standstill but he was winning! I think he actually took one of Anakin's hands in that fight? Only Yoda's intervention saved their bacon.
Maul meanwhile got beat by the Obi-wan/Quigon combo. Although he did kill off Quigon. I think Maul is the cooler looking character and is probably more acrobatic than Tyrannus. However Tyrannus is probably more skilled and stronger in the Dark side of the Force.

I'd say that Maul has greater potential in the dark side, though Tyrannus has developped his more.
However, let's face one thing: Tyrannus isn't as young as he used to. Maul is in his prime. Despite his lack of experience when compared to the latter an considering the fact that the two-bladed lightsaber is a deadly weapon against regular lightsabers (despite the other fact that Tyrannus' is a bit unusual), I believe the battle between the two would be a very interesting one, with neither side having more chances to win than the other.
Just my thoughts.

Anybody want to watch two Sith duke it out? No! Darth Tyrannus all the way. I don't know why everyone "marks out" for Maul. He's too overrated. Wow! A double bladed lightsaber... cool.[/dramatictone]

Why? Because even official RPG books approved by Lucasarts make them a good match for one another. That's why.
That and if you read about the Sith in various of the books, the Two-bladed lightsaber as well as the training required to wield it has been designed specifically to kill lightsabers wielders, as the Sith wanted an advantage over their hated foes. It is a definite advantage that counters some of Tyrannus'.

It's not heated yet, it's just that some people are pretty convinced of some facts, which is understandable. 'Sides, sarcasm isn't necessarily a bad thing... heck, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for sarcasm! lol.

Fair enough.
I was trying to think of something witty to say, but I didn't have anything, which is quite rare.

(I came here to this group after posting on the Star Wars rpg board about comic rpgs) I never said that Maul was a horrible Sith. He's overrated!
