Description: The first real memory the man known as Ben Reilly ever had was waking up in a arena facing an identical clone of person he thought he was, Peter Parker aka Spider-man. Forced to fight each other by the Jackal, the ensuing conflict left Peter victorious and Ben apparently dead. Actually alive, Ben viewed his loss as proof that he was the clone, leaving New York to escape from a life that wasn't his. Calling himself Ben Reilly, the first name of his Uncle Ben and Aunt May's maiden name, he traveled around America for many years trying to make a new life for himself, until he learned Aunt May was deathly ill. Returning to New York, Ben sought to stake his claim and adoptted the identity of the Scarlet Spider.
As a clone of Peter Parker, Ben has all his spider-like powers and his technical know how. While his exile from New York has dulled his superhero technique somewhat, it also gave him ample time to consider improvements to the Spider-man equipment, which resulted in the creation of impact webbing and stingers.
While he has gotten rusty during his trek across America and he lacks all of the experience of his counterpart, Ben shows much more enthusiasm to be a superhero, almost bordering on desperation to prove himself. Having long wallowed in self-pity over his origin as a clone, Ben has come to realize it doesn't matter as long as makes his own life, and is his own man.

Use whatever the default is on the boards.
On the write-up images, I find good old Airal is the closest match I have to the real thing, and offers a nice balance between size and readability. At least for me.

Nice writeup, Cyclonekath, but the Description doesn't mention the fact that "Ben Reilly" was in fact the actual, original Peter Parker, who only thought that he was the clone (until said clone died and, um, melted). The whole fubar thing was pretty complex and lengthy, and I may not have the facts straight myself...or maybe you just decided to ignore the more ridiculous details of the whole Spider-Clone Saga business . I wouldn't blame ya.

Actually, in the end, it turned out Ben Reilly was the clone, and the Green Goblin, or Norman Osbourn, had used the entire thing to mess with Peter's head.
Ben died, he turned to dust, he was a clone.

When Ben was swinging around as the Scarlet Spider, he was THE clone, and that's what my write up was aiming for, that period in time. Same reason why I have Ben with brown hair opposed to the blond dye job he adopted when he took on the role of Spiderman Cyc

Ben died, he turned to dust, he was a clone. Oh. Now it all makes sense. What a total Fubar for Marvel! Thanks for the info, though, LordMitchell. It's nice to know that the Spider-Man that I read about in my formative years was actually the real one after all, and not the knockoff. I was pretty ticked when I thought otherwise (which is probably why Marvel doubled back on the original story).

Scarlet Spider Rules! He was the only good thing to come out of the whole clone sage fiasco. But to distance themselves from that they went and killed him! That ranks right up with Marvel pulling stakes as far as MURPG goes.
By the way, great write up!
