Hello, I'm trying to figure out what you can and what you can't do with mastery of matter.
Could anybody help me out here?
I know the High Evolutanary has it, but what can you actually do with it? And how do you prevent it from becoming to powerfull for Players?
Thanx a lot!

I don't think you can actually stop it from being too powerful, considering getting the create/manipulate option allows you to violate all known laws of physics by creating new mass. Just use the strength of the action as an indirect challenge to the player. The matter has to be drawn from some place, right? If the character is one of those super-heroic "gotta save the day" kinda characters, toss in that every time he creates this matter, it takes mass from some other dimension. Essentially, he's destroying another realm for his own benefit. Granted, he doesn't need to know this until after the mercenaries from this world come to hunt down the person destroying their very universe.
You could also just tack on a +13 cost level to it at start to reflect that it's cosmic level in power.

As i see this mastery, it allows the user to change the form of a matter, turning it into something els... As for the High Evolutionary, he has unlimited create/manipulate matter, which cost +5 stones, so he would be able to manipulate matter as he wanted, like turn people into monkies, bricks into mud, water into vine, cookies into vinegumy bears And if im not mistaking... His Mastery costs about +14. Unlimited create/manipulate: +5 Accumulate Energy: +2 2x Damage: +2 Intelligence Bonus: +5 I however, think the 2x damage comes from the nature of his mastery (fire: 2x damage, electricity: stun, ice: contricts...) So it would be brought down to +12 So if you think about it, power cosmic it actully much more worth it, with its free create actions and alter attributes AT WILL.

Yeah, but the High Evolutionary can nullify or modify other people's powers, like he did with the X-men. I think he took away Wolverines healing factor, albeit for a short period of time. Suppress mutant powers has a cost level of +9 on its own, so I dread to think what modify/suppress mutant powers would cost.
